Back to the idea of hand pump spraying..what makes outfits like CP and others think that a consumer won't have any problem with spending what will seem like an eternity walking, kneeling, and reaching all the while pumping one of those damn spray heads? Are they on drugs or what? <chuckling>
In general, you don’t typically need to spray the whole car, usually just the rockers and rear quarters. Like anything, depends where you go too. I park at a train station a few days a week for work so I’ll pick up fallout from that and there’s usually some on the hood and roof, but not a ton.

I use iron remover in my Pump IK Sprayer. Not the foam one, the Multi. I have several LOL. 2 of them are the 360 model that you can use upside down, but one is just a regular one. It drew the short straw for permanent Iron remover duty as I use it about every 3 months on my daily driver. I pump up and apply just like I would a Rinseless wash on dry paint. Let it dwell for about 2-3 minutes, then hit it with my foam of choice. LIft, Reset, whatever... Then dwell again, and rinse. Then foam AGAIN and do a contact wash LOL. Yes I am that OCD...

And yes the IronX Foam soap is wonderful. I use it frequently in my wheel bucket for that little bit of Oomph to help get the brake dust off... Plus it is nice for lubrication.

How’s the pump sprayer holding up with the Iron X running through it? Some sprayers, and the nozzles in particular, end up going to shit pretty quick with some of these chemicals. Good idea to use the sprayer if it’s holding up though šŸ‘

OMG, don't get me started on this topic.

Ford are a VERY insular brand that really have no clue of the concept of the word "Global". Oh for sure, they like to mention they are a "global" car company at each and every opportunity, but the facts tell a different story.

I think we all remember Ford telling everyone that would stop building passenger cars and focus on SUV's, commercial vehicles and trucks. Well, that never really happened beyond the US market. They invested in several key players, then left them off the menu for the rest of the world. Bronco, Bronco Sport, RWD Explorer, Maverick would have all been successful in Australia, and other countries too. But no, they don't make them for export, don't make them in right-hand-drive.

Maverick would have been perfect solution for many who don't need a body-on-frame Ranger. Bronco and Bronco Sport have huge brand recognition and would have been extremely popular. So why do this when the sales of those models would have clearly spoken for themselves? Money and lack of thinking outside the square................or outside of the USA.

So, the short answer to Maverick is........................we don't get them because Ford is cheap and narrow minded. We are bloody lucky to have access to the Mustang.

So far so good. I've used it for almost a year with no issues.

Special vehicles can take on a personna of their own and when we have to say goodbye, I think we all hope the next owner treats her with at least moderately good care.

In the case of your GT, I know that's true, and I too hope he/she appreciates what you've done for her.

But what I am anxiously awaiting is, the arrival of the new girl and how excited you will be when she arrives at her new home. <warm smile>
Well, I found out today that my car has shipped! It on vessel Titania and is currently still in American waters, but we have progress! ETA in Brisbane is September 20th, ETA at the dealer early October!

Watched it again this morning and I agree, the boy has talent. Noticed he hit the truck with IronX after rinsing. I've had a bottle for a long time but have never used it. However, I thought it was a chemical for the foam cannon, not a hand sprayer.

Those are perfectly fine for a detailing spray or window cleaner BUT, having to pump the thing oh maybe a million times while walking around the vehicle gave me angina.

Is there another, faster way to apply the product? After four years and 5k miles, would you say that she needs an IronX bath, D?
Firstly, I doubt you will see much reaction from the iron remover. Every time I've used iron remover on mine, I've rarely seen much if any reaction to the chemical. Regular washing and maintenance plays a massive part in this.

Iron removers are typically a spray on product. However Carpro sell a IronX Foam, IronX Spray and IronX Paste. For the most part, you only need the spray, the paste is for spot treatment, the Foam is more diluted.

As for easily spraying iron remover, check out the Solo 461 battery powered sprayer -

SOLO 260 Battery Powered Sprayer (carpro-us.com)
SOLO - Electric Sprayer (1L) – Car Supplies Warehouse

I realize your reply was regarding mineral deposits/water spots on the OP's vehicle so hopefully this is my last question..knowing how OCD I am with her, do you think I should get this aggressive for Sarah's first decon bath ever or would you recommend less steps/products?
Seeing as you already have the products, I would use them. In particular, the Lift to help break down the Reload prior to polishing.

I'd just like to reiterate this point, because we get the same damn LHD center console in our RHD variants. :curse:

Q) How hard, or expensive, could it be to give a "global" car a proper RHD version of the center console?
A) Not very, and not much.

Have a look underneath, and the same sub-assemblies could easily be mounted on the other side of a mirrored console.

The drift brake has no mechanical linkages, so that should be easy to mount of the RH side of the transmission hump as well.

Don't get me started on that.
Oh wait.... too late. :giggle:

They should just get rid of the useless cupholders and put the e-brake in the middle of the console. Problem solved. You shouldn't be eating and drinking while driving anyway.

Well that sucks. So much for being ā€œglobalā€. Do better, Ford…

Copy that guys and I think you and I share the dreaded obsessive gene, Alex! <grin>

Oh man, that's definitely cause for celebration, my friend! And, early October! Heck, that's right around the corner!

I don't know how many of you were perusing this forum back in late 2019 but I remember the day when Earl posted that my VIN had shipped like it was yesterday and while she was headed in my direction, I made up daily avatars to count down the days. <grin> And, it was Christmas Time!
They're marginal edits but got the point across. :=)

Kinda where my thinking was going, D. The car spends ninety percent of her time garaged so I don't know how much pollution contamination fell on her but I'm thinking not too much. But reading this is what I needed to hear.

Seeing as you already have the products, I would use them. In particular, the Lift to help break down the Reload prior to polishing.
So, when the IronX Snow Soap shows up, I will decon with it and Lift. May as well do a DeScale routine while I'm at it I guess.

Still way too hot to do any polishing so I figure I'll just use a non-ceramic topper on her until it cools off and avoid Reload. Howze that sound?

As for easily spraying iron remover, check out the Solo 461 battery powered sprayer -
Thanks amigo but I'm ever so tired of Lithium batteries, more of same I don't need. :=) I will use the iK Foam Pro with Brake Buster for the wheels going forward but that's as far as I wanna go with sprayers for detailing.

@DFB5.0 curious if you’ve tried these yet? Although it’s a sponsored video Pan seems pretty impressed with the capabilities of the new line.
