Hmm. Good question. I don’t think so but won’t hurt anything to try both. You should be able to hear the valve open. I’m not sure if the Shelby active exhaust functions any differently than the GT/Mach active exhaust in that regard, but through accessory mode is how we have to do it with the non-Shelby’s.That doesn't seem to work for me. Is there a difference between changing the exhaust and changing the mode itself to track?
yea, it don’t work like that on Shelby’s…well, supposedly it will if you turn on accessory and switch the mode.Hmm. Good question. I don’t think so but won’t hurt anything to try both. This is the way my 2020 GT350R works. If you want a quiet start on a GT350, push the clutch down, hold it for a few seconds until the noise from the valves cycling ends and then start the engine. If you just push the clutch down and hit start immediately, the valves will be open and you'll have a loud start.
In my 2018 that give me a drive mode select error and locks the car into normal mode so your mileage may vary with this trick.I took the fuse out that controls the active exhaust. It's always open now and I get true cold starts. It costs nothing and takes like 30 seconds to do.
I tried this exact same method and it does not work on my 2019 GT PP1. When I change the exhaust setting to sport and start the card (without turning OFF accessory mode), it instantly reverts back to NORMAL mode. So the startup does not happen in sport mode.Hit start button with fob in hand but don’t start car (turns car on in accessory mode). Change exhaust setting to sport/track to open the valves. Start car (do NOT turn off accessory mode first or else the car will revert back to its default which is Normal exhaust mode). Enjoy lovely louder startup
Agreed. This is exactly what doesn't work. It does work fine in the GT500, so they must have made an update with us in mindI tried this exact same method and it does not work on my 2019 GT PP1.
