I took the car to a show today. I thought turning the car on first and then switching the valves on would force it to start loud. Wrong... It starts like a Camry, pauses, and then opens the valves. This is the worst way to start her up. Does anyone have any tricks? Can I pump the throttle before starting?

Ive noticed when starting the car, if I push in the clutch pedal and wait a secord or two to push the start button, it will start quieter. If you push in the clutch and IMEDIATELY hit the start button, it doesnt give it time to close the valve, and it sounds awesome! Give it a try and let us know if it works for you.

kind of a hack but before you leave for the show next time, pull the valve control fuse after starting the car and opening the valves. Next time you shut her down and start her up (presumably at the show) the valves will still be open.

Hit start button with fob in hand but don’t start car (turns car on in accessory mode). Change exhaust setting to sport/track to open the valves. Start car (do NOT turn off accessory mode first or else the car will revert back to its default which is Normal exhaust mode). Enjoy lovely louder startup

Quiet start would be a crime on the Shelby’s
I agree… but it is what we were given. We have a few seconds of “Normal” until we change to “Sport”.
Normal is quite quiet.

That doesn't seem to work for me. Is there a difference between changing the exhaust and changing the mode itself to track?
