Put a V8 in it and I would buy one.

I would consider a 4dr V8 as well. Looked at a blackwing but it was a budget stretch. I would have considered a charger if it had a manual. Sadly, the markup on those cars was ridiculously insane at the time so I stayed clear of the brand.

The rumor is a 4 door Mustang. Farley mentioned it in a podcast recently (I don’t recall which one). If it’s got a V8, I’d buy one

Pitch the 650 design, bring in the 550, add the Shelby front clip and rear, and add two more doors. Done. I’d buy one for sure.

Was bad enough making a SUV with the Mustang name, but a
4-door Mustang ? End of an era of uniqueness.

To be clear, Farley said the 4 door would be an option alongside the traditional 2 door. The 2 door would not be replaced

There’s always those arsehats that just can’t help themselves. It’s in their nature. Much the same as a pile of …. can’t help stinking. I doubt the GM crowd complained about the two door cadillacs.

I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the thinking with the four door is a way to keep the Mustang in general going forward with units produced. I’m all for whatever if we get to keep seeing the Mustang be around in the future.

I agree. If it gets overall Mustang volume up (and especially keeps the V8 alive), I’m here for it. And I’d likely buy one too

Azzhat LOL. GM will never make a 4-door vette, nor Camaro (when it returns). Bet on that. Cadillac also has a history of 4-doors on almost every model they produce. So that's a moot comparison.

Really you guys want a 5,000 lb 4 door vehicle (I don't care about the name, hopefully not Mustang) as long as it has a V8?

Here I keep lobbying for better performance and for Ford to try to make the car a little smaller/lighter.

I mean, I guess I could live with something even bigger and heavier than the current Mustang if Ford made a DOHC version of the 7.3 or something. 700 HP don't care if the car is heavy.

no. The Accord/Civic/K5 are under 3300. Add 200lb for v8.

I agree the Mustang needs to lose at least 8 inches and quit this nonsense of pretending the rear seat serves a purpose. Why can't Ford steal the Mazda playbook and put a suicide door on the passenger side and make the Mustang a passable 3-seater, assuming the passenger is fairly short?

The 4V is too small for the rear seat to be usable. Yes in/egress is vastly easier than a Mustang by virtue of the door, but the leg room is non-existent and is not usefully better than the Mustang.

The 5V, however is a proper 4-seater. Lose the stupid power-adder and sell a SilverWing with N/A engine. The 4V should be re-launched as 2-door instead of pretending what it isn't.
