Been hearing bad things about the brand dss drive shafts. Was looking at a steeda or dynotech one but people are saying there's noises/vibrations when they install a one piece drive shaft is it only from dss or is that all brands?

I can only say my Steeda aluminum one piece is doing just fine. No NVH

Steeds shaft on mine. I can see how some experience NVH with it if not careful on the install. I had to work out some issues with mine, but thankfully I was able to catch them during install and fix them. Car has been super smooth since the install. Read about it here (start at post #64). Great ds and no regrets with this purchase.

I've had both, DSS and Steeda (< still have). And yes, the DSS adds a ton of NVH; the difference is that the Steeda is foam filled. FWIW, for a daily driver, Steeda all the way.

What is the weight difference between Stock. Steeda Aluminum, and CF?

I read through that, what a mess. In summary, you received the correct hardware and had to buy new shims and then the install went as expected, correct? A lot to digest in there and trying to make sure I read it right.

Had two Gforce alum driveshafts. First one bad, second one good. Had 1 qa1 carbon, good. Currently have DSS carbon, good. Car traps 173, smooth as glass.

What made you go from QA1 CF to DSS?

Steeda did send out updated hardware, but before they did that, I went to Fastenal and bought my own hardware and modified my factory shims. The updated hardware that Steeda sends does not use the factory shims. I just wanted to retain them because it made sense to me to have them on there.

Ahhh. 10r80 for me. I saw Beefcake posted last week they put a DSS CF on his ‘24. I asked if any difference between QA1 and DSS and he just said different options both good. Was curious if some of the DSS changes made it better than QA1 at this point. And its a bit cheaper as well.

I have the DSS one piece aluminum on my 800whp Vortech car, no issues it's been great. Didn't really feel much NVH when we first installed it.
