Well its a done deal(perhaps) today I ordered the C8. I will miss you guys. The folks in the C8 place are really snooty.

Congrats!

I keep torturing myself building them online. I need to squash the notion by going and trying one on, I'm betting I'll fit in one as well as I did the C7 (built like a linebacker that likes beer too much).

I found that I fit better in a C7 than a C8. The C7 felt like it had more shoulder and hip room to me.

I'm tall in the torso, and as such I found visibility odd in the C7. Like I had to sort of crouch and lean ahead to see stoplights while sitting at one on a test drive. Otherwise it wasn't bad.

The local collector car dealer usually has a C8 sitting around (they have a white on red Z06 at the moment)....

Check it out. I see better in the C8 vs the Mach with the seats pumped all the way up. 5",6" 165 lbs

I think you missed an 'N'...

You'll be back for the jovial ribbing, less cordial reality-check slapping, and general nonsense that epitomizes the M6G experience.

And you REALLY need to edit that PDF so your PII doesn't get permanently splashed across the whole of the Inter-tubes.

that's a GM "design statement". Camaro has the same problem. They need to raise the roofline 2 inches. Or in case of C8, pul the damn windshield back so it's not 8 ft in front of you and thereby move the eyebrow closer in.

Me, your not gonna like the fit then in a C8. Tall Torso imho is a no no, at least for me

One owner's experience with his c8.

For funsies, I had the salesman get the keys and start it up, and asked them when the last time the oil was changed, and the salesman said they changed the oil there a couple days ago. So, I pulled the dipstick and checked the levels, and sure enough, it's reading a quart high. I pointed that out and said, "You do realize that the engine oil is to be at operating temp when checking the oil right? Looks like your guys filled it after the change, then checked the oil with the engine off because this is what happens when you do that." And, I let him look at the dipstick. "Good job, you guys are trying to blow the cats off the car. This thing has a dry sump system and you need to get this fixed ASAP."

The poor salesman brought a tech out and they removed the car. I asked him what issues it has and they said, "Oh this thing is a beauty, perfect."

I think it's borderline criminal what GM has been able to do with CarFax on the C8. It's true, if you pull this car's CarFax, it will show up as clean as a whistle... same as it did when I sold it to Dodge. However, this car is a bonafide lemon. This holds true for most GM repairs done on C8s. They rarely show up on the CarFax. Like this car, it had 5 trans replacements between me and the next guy, and he lost at least 1 more trans and an axle half shaft. That occurred about a month after he bought it.

So, this is what that car's clean CarFax is missing:

7 transmission replacements (at least 7 I know of)
1 axle half shaft (they should have put on a pair, but only did driver's side)
Failed O-ring on #7 piston
Total of 2 complete catalytic converter replacements (4 cats in all)
All O2 sensors replaced
2 trans valve body replacements
EGR pump replaced
Intake manifold gaskets replaced
Infotainment screen replaced (died on me in month #3 at around 2,500 miles... just went blank)
Passenger electronic door handle system replaced/repaired
Oil pumps replaced (It has 3, one went bad so I had the dealer do all 3 when they were doing the oil ring job above)
Electrical work done on the shifter to resolve park not fully engaging
Front end stripped/repainted after a dealer tech ran the car into a large tool box and cracked the front tip of the nose (occurred a week before I got rid of it, repair is not of good quality... can still see a dent in the nose, slightly on the driver's side of the center point)
2x TPMS sensors replaced
And, that's just what I can remember.

Remember, the old guy who originally ordered it only drove it 425 miles in 18 months and ran the engine idle h
ours up over 60 hours.

It’s an “EXPERIENCE” alright. Overly sensitive need not apply. You need to be open to criticism and critique while gaining useful information. Here you’ll pool from a vast assortment of colorful characters, most of whom of with good intent but various levels of people skills. :cwl: I’m Kidding (for the overly sensitive readers)

Am I crazy? Looked at the Dark Horse. What a price increase for not much of an upgrade. Mach 1 was my first new sports car. (Had a 1972 Vette 10yrs ago). Did not consider the C-8 because of ease of entry and onboard storage issues. I love the Mach after 18 months and 8000 wonderful miles, but I am feeling the itch. Not much time for me to enjoy crazy wild cars in my life.

Sorry to say I will be leaving this forum soon. C8 is ready for Museum delivery on April 17th. Planning a nice ride home east from Bowling green to overnight in Knoxville then picking up the parkway working south to Clemson. Any must-do roads to drive?
Will miss all the great input and ideas in here it really has been most helpful and appreciated. Added a lot to my enjoyment of the Mach 1.
I wanted to tap in one more time by asking for input on selling my car. 2021, non HP, 9650 miles, 5 oil changes, garage kept no mods other than all the extras I picked up from looking in here. The sticker was $58,740, with Recaro leather. The car sat in the showroom for one year and went into service on 4-07-2022.
KBB has not changed much in the last 3 months $46,082 average pvt sale. Also if anyone has experience with any of the many forums to sell.
Thanks in advance and wish all of you well!
