Where do you see the "Fine Print" that tells you if your racing and such things aren't covered? I've seen the page with the things covered on the Ford Protect page.

I was able to read the full 11 pages of the warranty. Decided to go with it, even with the things not covered saying "racing". I talked to a Ford service manager at a local Ford dealer that is also a Shelby dealer. He said it won't be a problem as long as the car is maintained properly and not abused. He said if he saw me doing Don Garlits style burnouts around town at red line it would be a different story. He also said he didn't need to know what I'd be up to. He said he really hasn't seen problems with the Voodoo engines in the GT350's they've seen. There is always the chance there could be issues, but I'm willing to gamble. I won't show up with my numbers on the car, slicks, roll bar, racing decals, and am going to keep the engine stock. We went through Granger and they gave me a better price than other dealers I checked with. Also, Zach from Granger reached out to me when I was having issues with price, which was very cool. Got everything squared away, and went with 6 years/40,000 miles. Some may flame me for buying this, but it still gives me more peace of mind than not having it. I hope I never use a dime of it, that would mean the car has been rock solid.

That is until the esp people get involved. Just like in the linked story, they will ask for photos, inspect for track use, and then deny your claim for racing and abuse. I'd you take it to the track and something happens, tow it back home and wash it, put new tires on it, and remove all the track decals.

Or, be prepared to go through what the other guy is going through.

And a friend who is a salesman mentioned to me that certified pre-owned cars come with an extended warranty (or ESP- not sure). I'll ask later.

If it's certified pre-owned they come with one year/12,000 mile ESP. That's the only reason the 6 year/40,0000 mile was available.
