2017 to 2024 Stang Worth it?

I like the front on the 15-17's personally, be it a eco, GT, or 350. I'd argue it's the best front clip on a Mustang since the '69 Mach 1.

For me, the GT350 is the high water mark for S550, but the other '15-'17 cars are right behind. I've owned mine 8.5 years and still find myself staring at it while having a beer. Never warmed fully to the '18-'23 front end (except Mach 1), and the S650 is just no bueno for me in too many aspects.

Hey fellas. Never got a chance to drive a 2024 mustang yet. My sales guy is about an hour drive away from me so just never have the time on the weekends to go see him.
Drove by my dealership that’s closer (10 min away) saw an all blacked out 24. Wanted to drive it but apparently the guy is going through financing (come to find out he never bought the car so it’s back for sale).

Might come back to drive it but we’ll see. Snow may fall down soon. Anyways. Here’s some pics:

Just getting feelers out there. My sales guy told me this morning a 24 just landed.

For those whose has a 17 & driven a 24, is the drive noticeably different? I understand the more tech that the 24 offers (I’m a youngish guy, I like tech)

If you drive a manual transmission, I would say the newer cars are not as good, because Ford changed the gearing for better fuel efficiency.

For automatic, the 10 speed should be an upgrade. I know the Mustang is faster with the 10 speed. However, I also do see people on here complain about the 10 speed as well.

Personally, I don't like the newer engines as much. Direct injection doesn't give enough benefit to be worth the added cost and complexity. Also, the PWTA cylinder bores I think cause more ring sealing issues compared to the earlier engines with iron cylinder liners. I understand Ford's motivation to make more money by reducing the cost to manufacture engine blocks, but I think for the end user, the iron liners are preferable.

So I think bottom line is you will need to drive the car and decide whether the steep price is worth the change. And think about the changes Ford made to the car and whether you think the new cars are actually better or not.

As an owner of a 2022 with the 10R, stock-to-stock it is definitely better than any 15-17 I've driven.
I guess they ironed out the looks and the engine and transmissions are more refined.
The Gen3 Coyote and the 10R are measurably better than any Gen1/2 and the 6R.

I expect the current S650 (which I'm beginning to like) to have the classic first year run problems, so if I were you I'll keep the current car and wait for the facelift.

I recently drove a A10 2024 and tbh, it felt slower than my 6 speed 2017 GT with just e85 tune.

Was it a dealer car? How many miles? Did it have 91/93 in it. You have a fully broken in car with a tune. Not too surprising that it “felt” faster. But, I seriously doubt in an apples to apples comparison your car would be faster.

the tech is cool, and i enjoy the 12" screen in my '22 F150, and luckily *KNOCK ON WOOD* i haven't had issues with it...but my buddy with a '22 Expedition Limited has the giant 15" all touch screen, and he's having nothing but problems with all of it. Between the screen, the front camera sensors malfunctioning, the collision prevention, it's been to ford for warranty work at least 15 times since he got it, and they can't figure out the problem. At this point, as much as I would love to have a brand new Sync system in the stang with the cool features, I don't trust ford's new coding on it yet. I have my digital gauge cluster and my 8" matte finish touch screen in my '21 GT and i'll be sticking with that!
