C8 owners have to remove the ECM, send it in to HP Tuners, wait for days, and then re-install it. And then have a 3rd party tune it. It's taking serious work to get into them.

Mopar is the same way. Tuned is tuned.

I haven’t watched the HP Tuners video yet

Not only that, but financially it would be best to wait a bit. Right now I imagine most dealers will be asking MSRP or more for the first models on the showroom for. In a year or two barring any major economic shift, you should be able to get the same car for thousands below MSRP.

I agree with you that there will likely be further discounts down the road, but if prices continue with the current trends then in a couple years thousands below MSRP could still be more than no discount right now. Hard to say for sure, I find it crazy when I see early GT350 window stickers that are thousands less than Mach 1’s, inflation is a crazy thing!

For one, your statement that S550’s have had almost 0 issues isn’t correct, no car is ever perfect. And while maybe Ford didn’t have to make major changes to improve anything throughout the life cycle, they definitely do make things better over time. I can’t say this as a confirmed fact because I’m not sure, but 15-17 S550’s had quite common A/C issues which I personally experienced. Based on what I’ve seen reported, or rather not reported, on the forums, it seems this is MUCH less common on 18 and newer cars which makes me believe they must have done something to fix the problem. Also things like door latch issues on the 15’s, trunk cable harness issues on earlier S550’s, etc. Yes those could be fixed through recalls, but it’s obviously easier to not have to deal with those and they are fixed in newer models. These improvements just come with experience like most things in life.

Yup, it is pretty remarkable. As an engineer myself, and with a product as complicated as modern cars are, it’s nice to see something with so few issues. But from personal experience, the A/C one was pretty annoying, considering the entire dash had to come out for it to be fixed. It left my car with some minor damage here and there, inside and out, that I’m hoping I don’t have to deal with again on my car now, because I’m fairly certain they updated parts so this issue should be much less common.

Also, you really think not a single part in the S550 had a # change during its 8 years of production? I’m not really interested in searching for this information, so I’m not going to quote specific part #’s, and you can certainly do that as you’re the one that appears to be invested in which specific parts underwent changes, but I can 100% guarantee you that many parts were changed during the life cycle.

Yeah the doors on my 21 do NOT sound like the doors on my 2016 Mercedes C300, or even my C43.

That was one of the only gripes I had about my 21 GT Premium

None of that is what the OP is asking about. The 2018s weren't "sorted" compared to the 15-17 cars, they were updated. Adding options is not what the OP is concerned about.

The OP is asking about issues get fixed, and Ford basically doesn't do that.

But it's also fair to say that the S550 has basically had 0 issues, other than the MT82 aluminum shift forks.

I thought they addressed the AC issues that were prevalent with the '15-'17's. I had to have the compressor on my '16 GT Premium replaced. Thankfully I had the extended warranty.

Back in March when ordering opened up, i placed an order for a 24 GT, then later in May i read about all the issues Ford was having building the S650's so when ahead and bought a 23 GT off the lot, one of the last they had left. Got an email from Ford saying the 24 i had ordered was built, kinda tempting to look into getting the 24, but after more thought I think the smart move is to keep my 23 and wait a couple more years for Ford to get any issues fixed on the new S650's, plus i would still have to pay a few thousand trade difference probably. anyone else have plans on trading for the S650 in the future? & still not a big fan of those screens, will have to get used to them someday in the future i guess lol.

Smart move. Like you I also contemplated on getting the S650 but was turned off mostly by the whole tablet dashboard thing. Plus first year new models are bound to have issues. I decided to trade my '16 GT Premium for the same trim brand new '22, this time with the digital dash, nav and active exhaust. Love my '22. Maybe I'll look into the S650 when there's a mid-cycle refresh that I would think would have a much improved looking dash.

Ford always do minor adjustments to their production lines due to issues that rise from warranty claims.

New mustang look like blow fish. Gone are crispy lines stamping on the side of older mustangs. New front end look like an alien now..

Saw a few buyers brought the new gt for quick flip on Facebook. Darn that new mustangs look hideous!

Did you drive a base or a premium? I’ve heard the premium screen (all one screen instead of 2) is a lot better. I’m going to look at a couple tomorrow just to see them in person. A base and a premium with the bronze package.
