Buying a GT350 or 24'GT-DH

Hi, I was waiting to buy a new 2024 Mustang. I just saw a GT350 with good price (in Europe is hard to find Shelby's) but is a 2016 model. I readed the 2019 model improved some things.
Checking the prices for GT350 are high (in USA and Europe even more) , specially 2019-2020 models.
Do you think is a good idea go for a Shelby or to 24"?

The only reason I would recommend NOT buying the GT350 in your specific situation is lack of warranty support (not that a 2016 would have warranty left anyway) and what I can only assume will be difficulty in finding a repair shop should anything go wrong. If you buy the 24 GT DH you will have warranty and dealership support.

If you can live with that risk then GT350 all the way, but of course I am biased :giggle:

I would get the GT350 for financial reasons because it will retain its value better. I also prefer port injection over the PI/DI the DH is "saddled" with. Plus the Voodoo and the brakes on the GT350 are awesome.

I think a 2016 is fine to buy and can be reliable. I personally would prefer a 2019 or 2020, but a 2016 can always be repaired or upgraded if you ever have an engine (or other) issue. I would want to check a 2016 GT350 very carefully prior to buying, though.

I just came here to say GT350 1000% the DH is in its first year and likely has stupid markups…but also because I love the 350

If the 16 is a tech package car, it does not include some of the aux coolers that the track pack of the same year received. They can prove problematic if you are tracking them - and they will be gnerally slower to sell if you ever sell it (sorry tech guys!)

16s were solid cars. The 17s brought about the stigma of engine issues. The Gen 2 stuff is irrelevant IMHO, it's the same engine with a few differences. I have a 17 with zero issues. I had a 16 and it was solid.

How many miles in the 16 you are thinking of?

I agree with Jeff. Steer clear of a tech pack.

I drive a 2016 GT350 in europe. Repairs can be done at few specialized shops (in Austria Peicher Us-Cars or in Germany Geiger Cars or Henry Hentzschel) because usually the ford dealers here have no idea about the car and i wouldn’t trust them especially with the screw on oil filter on the 2016- early 2017 Cars. If you choose a 2016 model i would look out for the track pack because it is easier to retrofit the tech pack features than vice versa.

That's funny because I would prefer a tech pack car. I by far prefer the interior in the tech pack cars and coolers aren't too bad to add. I would just do aftermarket coolers. It's a fair amount of work, but not too big of a deal.

For me it was far easier to retrofit too the oem sync 3 + 2019 oem mirrios with blis than retrofitting the oem coolers. I’m also working on getting dual zone climate and the 7 speaker system to work.

Yes the OEM coolers are a pain to install because you have to swap out the transmission and pull the differential out of the car. It's not exceedingly difficult, but it's a fair amount of labor. It took me quite a while to do spending a couple hours a weekend at a time.

Funny because it's the outside I couldn't live with... I guess when Dodge announced they were cancelling the charger, Ford decided to take over.

How did the tech pack differ interiorly from the track pack cars? I thought the sofa seat option was the only difference on the inside.

Awesome that you did the it the oem way but i think for me changing the trans and trying to get it shipped too europe would be pretty much impossible :D
