I escalated to the president and we've reached an acceptable conclusion.

The dealership will be paying me for the cost of OEM lights.

I'm very happy with the outcome and am looking forward to enjoying this car.

Thank you all for feedback.

Warranty come with the car?
Yes.

My car is ineligible for a return because the Gold program only offers that if there is no lien on the car. Since I financed part of it, this is not an option. I didn't catch that in the fine print.

Concerns addressed, warranty in tact, great deal on the car, and the car it self is bitchin...I'm happy to keep it and am pleased with the outcome.

This sounds good and I hope it is the end of this nightmare for you.

But I’m the kind of guy that always thinks in terms of how something could go wrong so I gotta ask: what if the previous owner did other quirky stuff that comes to light down the road? OK, I’m a worrier…

This headlight thing...While at a C&C event last year, someone was peddling color-changing LEDs for headlights. The existing headlight could be modified with one or more LEDs, controlled by a remote. Like ambient lighting. He thought it was cool. I saw it as someone IDK drilling into my lenses, so he could then fish a string of LEDs into it.

I said, "Uh, no Thank You."

Well as long as you're happy is all that matters I guess.
I will wish you luck when it comes time for emissions that there are no unpleasant surprises waiting.
Enjoy your car.

Thanks, man. I think it'll be fine with the original valve cover to TB hose.

I'm over this. I've had this car for 11 days and have been constantly stressed/pissed off about the whole situation and given the uncertainty, I've barely driven the car. I was making mistakes at work, losing sleep, etc. The resolution is satisfactory to me and now I can relax and enjoy the car!

I'm not too far from where the chase scene in Bullitt was filmed so maybe first the first order of business is to go recreate that. lol

My first Mustang purchase car came with bad paint. It was a stressful five months until it was all resolved. Worried every day about it, it was not how your first new car and first Mustang purchase should go!

Glad you can get to the enjoying it phase now. Have fun!

Controversial I know but but I’ve spent 40 years in the motor trade and from my experience I’ve learned that any modification to any car will introduce a compromise, when I see a car with mods I either walk away or make sure it’s cheap enough to trade out of

Man, I've been following this thread and I get it.

Originally I was in the "return the car" camp, but now that you have a reasonable (to you, which is what matters here) resolution, then hell yeah, drive the car and enjoy it. Don't let all this taint your ownership experience from this point forward.

Generally agree. With a kit like Ford handling or PP2 or 3 I’d overlook some of that and consider it upgraded. But I agree, hodgepodge mods are no bueno.

"Gold certified" should be an immediate red flag. It means literally nothing and is meant to make gullible people think they actually looked at the car.
I was about to ask what that meant
