If I wanted to spend all my money on my mustang then I'd definitely buy two piece rotors. They do provide good cooling upgrades, but when you wear them down as quick as blanks the cost becomes unjustifiable. But to your point you can get a set of the PP brembos for $600 remanufactured, I've seen a lot of people buy $2k rotors for those lol! I'll be sticking with my blank rotors until I decide I want to turn this into a full track weapon :)

this is a 'new' line of thought. You've seen/cite folks overloading the PP1 Brembo *calipers*?

I was using 18 in front and now cobalt xr1..the only issue that i ever had was to burn, front and rear, the dust boots because of the extreme heat.
Simply got rid of them. After all race calipers/cars don’t use them
I run fast, on squared 305 nt 01
Your bleeder issue is either a defect or operator mistakes
Never heard of someone complaining about those. Calipers and i do about 15 events/year with a bunch of other mustang always there
Of course I’m not w2w racing but this car is the wrong tool for any type of w2w anyway
1 issue that i have seen times and times again with braking system at a race track, is people complaining of brake fade/overheated fluid, if using the correct pads, the #1 reason is people not realizing that the pad material itself is a good heat insulator and therefore the more worn out the pads are, the more heat is transferred to the pistons and then to the fluid
I change pads when there are at 40% left

traditional bleeder or speed-bleeders? If latter, you were out-gassing to such an extent that it opened the spring-mounted ball?

Hmm, typical thread tape only goes to 500F. I don't know what happens to it after that - char or burn?

I use girodisc. My car is a track car. I had them since car was still a street car.

Pros
11lbs each lighter.
Better cooling.
Mine last long. (better cooling better wearing)
Cons. 1000$

Is it worth it for spirited driving. No.
More than 6 event per year? Maybe.
The pads are more important.
Pair with a good pad (not the hawk5.0) and you are gold probably with oem style too.

What you're experiencing is the shittyness of the OEM design, and a new set of rotors is not going to do much. Some better pads and fluid will, but again not much.

Sounds like you would be a good candidate for the 15" performance pack brakes.

This, get rid of the 4 piston and get some brembos with 15inc rotors. they can be had for cheap. shelby american take offs or midway mustang. Upgrade the fluid and do braided steel lines while your at it. And if you want to make it a track car you'll have to look at cooling options. I use Kenny Browns stuff, cheaper than the factory option.

They aren't 2 piece in that sense. So no.

Teflon tape is for plumbing. Pipe threads are tapered and this tape takes up any extra space which might leak. Brake lines seal on the taper, not the threads, so if you're relying on the threads to seal, the taper is damaged and needs replacing.

im not convinced the caliper really matters. why is 6 pistons actually better than 4? better pad wear pattern maybe but thats about it. rotor diameter, brake cooling, fluid and pad probably matter a lot more. id rather have car with 15in rotors and factory brembos than a car with 14 in rotors and $10000 calipers.
