Ok boys, looking to get a set of wheels from LMR. These are the 2 tires available nitto and Firestone.
these will be summer tires only with maybe a few track days. But mostly grocery getting and spirited driving.
What everybody running, and why you running them
Cheers boys!

Which size? Both of those are equally bad

If you’re doing a 10” wide square setup, just get the wheels and get a better set of tires elsewhere. If you’re set on the wheel/tire combo from LMR DO NOT get the Nitto G2’s. They suck like something awful

What’s your power level and what type of track days are you doing? I’m running a 555r2 in the rear but I can’t recommend the g2’s. I’ve had good experiences with ps4s, it’s what I’m running up front, was front and rear stock, ran as3+ for a little while, and have alpin5’s on my stock wheels for winter, all great tires.

Very happy with my 285/35/20 square setup for spirited driving. I use my cup 2's for tracking so I can't comment directly on the fitment for tracking. My guess is they will do just fine if you are a novice tracker like me.

Despite what some people may apparently say...
The Firestone Indy 500 tires are fantastic. Especially if you're going to use them as you said...for some spirted driving and grocery getting and even the occasional track day.

The firestones last forever, provide good grip throughout their entire life and are good in the rain. On top of that, they can indeed handle track day duty as well(I've used them even in intermediate groups with success) and take the heat without getting greasy. I find them very predictable and communicative. Considering their price...it's a great tire.

Can't comment on the NT555's though, never used them.

Yep, I love my Firehawks. Excellent for the price, especially when you run 285 square.

Definitely not the Nittos. I got a combo from LMR as well and the Nittos are terrible. Can't wait to wear them out and get some conti extreme contacts.

as far as power bone stock except x pipe. I’ve only upgrade the suspension with Steeda progressive springs, stop the hop alignment and bushing components.
I’m new to the scene so my track days would be learning. And country roads would be more on par with typical use.

FWIW Steeda runs the Nitto, personally was looking hard at staying with the CUP 2. And have come to the conclusion the Nitto will end up as the choice.... OBW tread depth is better than all the choices for my HotRod. Do agree with the FS as a not so.

I’m running 285/35/19 square Nitto G2’s that I got from LMR tire/wheel package…My car is a DD and never tracked. I occasionally get some spirited driving in and have no complaints...When the time comes I’ll probably go with Michelin PS4S…I have no opinion with Firestone.

I’ve been using the nitto 555g2s for my daily tires for 18k miles now and have no complaints. They are wearing good, no road noise, and ride smooth. Mine are 305/35/19 squared. They have done well on fun twisty rode runs too. I’ve had them on the track and for what they are they corner well enough, did well in the rain on the track too. But my falken RT660s are way better for track and autocross.

To be honest the Firestone isn't any better. You only get these 2 brands if you have no money.

I don’t have any experience with them so I can’t directly comment on them. There are some on here that like them, others that don’t. I figure with a high performance car, why not spend a little extra and get the best tires you can. For me, that’s Continental or Michelin. I prefer Continental.

I have had both Continental and Mich PSS and PS4 I too like Contis. However, they don't offer a 305/35/19. Hence why I moved onto Mich PSS/PS4.
