I'm not comparing current software with old software. I'm saying the current Ford software is like old Windows (or old Apple, for that matter) software, and current BMW software is like current Apple software. Just an analogy.

For me, it's worth to wait for the 2016 models if you want the premium trim. This is a feature you interact with every day, and it looks like it is much improved. Right now, Ford production is going full steam on the new Mustang, so we can get 2016 models earlier next year. I'd say the wait would not be more than 9 months, if a 2016 is ordered in summer. They might even have a 2015 1/2 change.

I'm not saying not to wait for an option that you want. I'm saying it's not worth waiting for an option that might not even be available.
You're just guessing/hoping that it will be available in the 2016 and you're just making things up with 2015 1/2 model.

I'd rather live in the here and now because I don't even know if I'll be here tomorrow.

Did you find a software yet that doesn't look dated after a few years?

I'd be wary of the upgrade cycle especially for a new beta infotainment system to make my decision on a potential new ride, let alone from BB. Maybe I'm the weird one here because I'm more then content with the basic Sync setup (connects to my Zune / phone / local radio tunes flawlessly).

Does anyone really enjoy dealing with yet another touch screen when analogue buttons are easier to operate while driving anyway (climate controls, etc. that is)?

Its BlackBerry software. If you look at anything in the last 5 years with BlackBerry in the picture it has been a massive failure.

There are plenty of crappy Android products I won't spend my money on. I don't need Google big brothering my car.

It is QNX, not Blackberry.

For me it isn't that big of an issue with this car. It does matter when my wife wants a newer Edge however.

I'm totally fine with the current system.
It integrates well with my phone, music and voice controls.
Climate I almost never use because it's set to auto and I may adjust the temp but I do that manually.
Will the new one have some benefits? Sure but that's the point of any upgrade.
While I have no issue with QNX (BB has some rock solid software) it is version one so expect bugs.

QNX was acquired by BB back in 2010 and is the current developer...

I must say I do like the simplicity of the interface so far though.

Arguments about preference of motors, rim color, exterior colors, 5g's and prior...now software...Hilarious!

Food or thought: If they are testing on a 15 why can't they do a firmware upgrade so all 15's can have it too??? Unless Ford is going to need a different chip a firmware upgrade will do the trick especially if the software is just more aesthetically appealing and no upgraded chips necessary. Doing such year after year of new chipsets would become an engineering production waste of money.
