Yeah, thatās exactly what I did too. Iāve done it this way my whole life.No, I redlined my car at 300 miles. I find it's better to get a couple hard pulls in early on so things all settle in nicely. I don't think most people realize these engines are pushed to redline before the car leaves the factory. Lots of city driving is good for the manuals. If you haven't seen any issues in 1,000 miles, you probably won't see any at all.
There are some claims out there that some hard pulls early on can prevent oil consumption later. I don't know how true that is.
I was just getting the impression that I had violated some well known protocol.
