No, I redlined my car at 300 miles. I find it's better to get a couple hard pulls in early on so things all settle in nicely. I don't think most people realize these engines are pushed to redline before the car leaves the factory. Lots of city driving is good for the manuals. If you haven't seen any issues in 1,000 miles, you probably won't see any at all.

There are some claims out there that some hard pulls early on can prevent oil consumption later. I don't know how true that is.
Yeah, that’s exactly what I did too. I’ve done it this way my whole life.

I was just getting the impression that I had violated some well known protocol.

I keep reading about this ā€œbreak-in mileageā€ thing. I guess I must have missed it so it’s a little late to ask but is there some generally agreed on standard for break in?
Not discounting what @Zelek is saying but I was advised by the Ford technician who installed the Whipple on mine to break it in to the 1000 mile mark before tach'ing above 5000. Admittedly its getting very difficult to stay that low in the RPM range. Hit to 6000 the other day

Once I installed rivet nuts on my splitter, I no longer fear removing the bumper. Funny thing is I haven't removed the bumper since I did the DD sequential turn signals and the rivet nut conversion on the splitter.
I read it before, but do you have the link to your rivet nut post?

Did you have to modify the graphic or chose to? It's higher up on hood and boxier than oem it appears.
The louvers are a couple inches wider than the outside edge of stock graphic, that and the hood rises up a couple inches instead of being flat on the stocker. I had SSCustoms modify the design to fit around all the bumps and stuff. I wanted to keep the "look" of the stock graphic.

The louvers were painted Magnetic Metallic by Cervini, to match the wing and mirrors. The graphis is 3M Gloss Black, 3m Reflective White, and 3M Satin Dark Grey. The Mach1 logo is about 3/4" taller and 1" wider to keep it in proportion with the whole thing being wider.

Not sure, I have to figure out a way to mount the lights I bought and then remove the nose, and I'm not looking forward to that.
This may have come up in a different thread and I missed it. Which lights did you buy and do you have a pic of them? Are they white or amber?

Amber. They are the perfect size, but they have no mounting tabs.

Cool, thanks for the info. I know you guys do a lot of your work but I can’t do this. I’m gonna call my shop that does all my work for me and see what they would charge to do it.

Just got my 17 Mustang back up lights swap to LEDs from AUXITO. Really nice tight fit. At first I thought they were too big to fit the socket, I put firm pressure to push them in and they fit in, perfect. No loose connections here. These do more than just let people know you're backing up, they actually illuminate what's behind you.

Quotes that follow are from the 2022 Mustang Owner's Manual.

The engine break-in is most often discussed, but it's the whole car, right? Engine, gears, other significant components, their initial loads, seating and wearing in.

The manual will have a bit more detail. Many threads at this site (and others) discuss the topic.

At one extreme, some baby their cars throughout break-in. At the other, they drive it like they stole it the second they have keys. IMO, most of us perform a moderate and respectful break-in. You'll get a general feel for what people do by reading through a few threads.

"The first 1,000 mi (1,600 km) of driving is the break-in period of the engine. "

"Do not tow a trailer until you drive your vehicle at least 1,000 mi (1,600 km)."

"Note: The oil consumption of new engines reaches its normal level after approximately 3,000 mi (5,000 km)."

Thatā€˜s whaI I thought. No real firm guidelines. I donā€˜t dog mine but I’ll do a pull or two when I’m close to 200 miles. You never know one way or the other until it’s too late.
