I am lowered on Ford Performance progressive springs, about 3/4" drop. Stock suspension otherwise. Driver front strut is bad @22k miles.

Am looking at this kit to replace:
https://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-shock-strut-kit-1516gt.html

I daily drive my car, no track use.

Any recommendations for additional bits that could be done while in there?

Mine done the same thing. Reach out to @beefcake he hooked me up with some steeda on all 4 corners. Best investment.

You can also just buy the FP track struts on their own and transfer the strut mount to them. Same part for left and right side M-18001-AG. But if you have the OEM dampers on the rear, you really, really, really need to get rid of those. Get the track versions in the whole kit you listed above. The track struts/dampers are wonderful on the streets.

I would highly advise you to do all 4. And nothing that’s a factory replacement to fail again quickly. Buy cheap buy twice. 🤑🤑

The steeda pro actions are not going to ride as nicely as the FRPP or Bilstein monotube shocks. Monotubes are kinda amazing. Once you've been on both types, you really appreciate the latter.

I'd just get the shocks and reuse the top hats and mounts. No sense replacing perfectly good parts. Keeps the cost down a bit.

If you didn't cut your bumpstops a little bit shorter when you put on the lowering springs, this is a good chance to trim those.

Isn't that still covered by factory warranty at 22k miles and less than 3 year old car?

Should be but you’re gonna be with out a car for like 3-4 weeks. If u claim it on warranty.

Why? They diagnose the issue, order parts, you bring the car when parts arrive. Install should take less than a day.

I don’t know how it works in your neck of the woods but the dealership in NC. Normal don’t have parts available and warranty work makes no money so u are gonna wait regardless. That’s y I recommend if any thing like that goes bad just replace it with a better part.

Well...sure.. there are lots of good reasons to upgrade to FP track kit, but I would still get a replacement first. At least it can be sold later on.

As far as my neck of the woods, my dealer arranges a rental for me whenever my car needs to stay for more than a day for service or warranty work.
When my cat went bad, after couple of unsuccessful error reset attempts I emailed some logs to my dealer, they ordered a new cat without asking to brig the car. I just kept driving it. Once part arrived I brought the car and they also installed H pipe that I brought at no extra cost. Guess I'm lucky to have a good one 😄

My factory warranty 3/36k ended about 2 months ago now. I also have Ford Performance lowering springs and just assumed they would deny the claim due to that.

I also just spent 2 months dealing with a very good dealership to get a leaky rear axle seal fixed, so honestly I also don't want to take it back there any time soon. I get anxiety when it's sitting there for days on end.

I can only just laugh at this statement. At one time I probably believed this is how it would work too.

Then you get a call from your service advisor, it will be another day, and then another day...etc. Are they just that busy? Are they bumping you for more $$ jobs because you're just a pain in the butt warranty claim? Did they forget to order some critical parts that they should have known to order in the first place and it's going to take longer?

This is a dealer that fought Ford for me to get me a buyback on my first Mustang, so I know they aren't treating me badly.

Post covid and supply shortages, I don't expect the type of service you describe for anything beyond an oil change any more.

It took 2 months for them to have an availability + a loaner car for me for my last issue. And like I said, this is what I consider the best dealership/group in town and I have been with them for a decade now over 2 different brands, and they are wonderful. I just think the state of things lately has not helped at all.

So with all that said, taking this opportunity to upgrade some stuff seems like the easier choice. 😂

If you go with the FP track struts/dampers, they come with the shorter bump stops already installed. Some guys on the forum recommend replacing them with the Eibach bump stops but I haven't had a single issue with the FP bump stops that were included.
