Hi,
This was in the issues section but thought I'd move my question over here.

I have a stock 2016 Mustang GT (non performance pack) with only 3000 miles on it. About a month ago I had an OEM engine strut brace installed like the one in the performance pack car (that also has a different suspension) but also is spec'd as an option for my car. The car fyi came with the K-brace which I believe is on the 20" foundry wheel cars.

Shortly after this install I had a knocking noise in the front end (coincidence?) and yesterday had the upper strut mounts replaced under warranty.

Yesterday the knocking was gone. Today it has come back (with turning left right while moving straight and on turns) although with less frequency.

Understanding I did not have issues before I put the engine strut brace on, could this be my problem? What I am thinking is the brace has tightened up the front end too much and thus is amplifying the play in the bearings in the strut mounts. Perhaps the spec'd strut mounts are not appropriate for use with this brace? Could they still be faulty? I am not a mechanic.....

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

You'll hear more come through the road when you increase the rigidity of the body structure, but not really clunking/knocking noise. I did not hear something like this with my stock shocks/springs or strut mounts (non-PP GT also) after I added the K-brace and strut tower brace. The strut mounts between the PP and non-PP are pretty much the same, but the PP has slightly stiffer bushings. There should be no issues with them.

Thanks. The dealer looked at the car again this morning and has now ordered new struts (both sides).
