I believe it sits overnight car will recognize the replacement, the next day.

A quick YouTube search says;
Ignition on, not running
Flash high beams 5 times
Press brake pedal 3 times
After 10ish seconds the battery light will flash 3 times to confirm the reset.
(Optional if light doesn't flash is to turn Ignition off/back on and the light should then flash)

Supposed to work on all Ford vehicles 2011 and newer.

Did whoever changed the battery reset the battery monitor? It's probably not a big deal but if it's not done the car thinks it's still a 4 y/o battery and that affects the power/charging strategy.
Most 2 way scan tools can do it but I think it can be done without a tool as well.

How would I go about resetting the monitor.its a 19 gt prem

I found instruction.on acc mode flash high beams 5x and step on brake 3 x.after I flash lights I get a red battery which stays there.,shoukd leave well enough alone.are my instructions wrondealer. even thinking about bringing it to dealer.hope I'm using wrong instructions.thanks for any help.

I'll try again turning off ignition. Btw there's no red battery light when I'm in normal acc mode or driving the car so I think it's just me not testing right

Tried acc trick and still steady Red battery symbol.car runs fine no check engine light.battery cables are tight.alt is at 14.
Guess I'll have to bring it to dealer out is warranry

Checked new battery voltage and it's right at 12v

I'd think it would be better if you took it for a drive. Idling for extended periods isn't good for the car.

Just wait until the roads are clear.

The sleet isn't supposed to be here until after midnight. Having said that I wouldn't go out for a joy ride this afternoon as traffic is horrendous. It took me an hour and 20 minutes to go 30 miles around 1pm.
New batteries seldom come fully charged and either need a good long ride at highway speed or a top-up with a charger. I prefer to do it with a charger. Pretty much any charger for a car will work. If you have one, throw a trickle charger on it overnight.
Either way, waiting a day or several isn't going to hurt anything.

I'd think it would be better if you took it for a drive. Idling for extended periods isn't good for the car.

Just wait until the roads are clear.

Thanks so much for taking the time to reply.ill,let roads dry out and take her for a good drive.ill,post afterwards,I tried all the remote functions and everything worked including starting.sometimes if I don't start it for couple weeks.the remote start won't work until I start it manually

The procedure must be carried out within 10 seconds:

Switch ignition on that is not ACC mode;(engine off)

Pull and release high beam 5 times.

Press and release brake pedal 3 times.

If successful the battery light will flash 3 times within the next 15 seconds <You seeing this?
BMS reset completed.

If folks want to split hairs here. NO battery new is fully charged around 80%

yeah it worked.jad to look up how to turn ignition on buy did that and I'm a happy camper with a new battery,duralast is the only one they had 600 cca which should be good.thanks for all the advice made my bad.its 17 here now and I didn't want to take drive with tire pressure down due to cold

Thanks found ignition switch setting and it worked so I'm good.thanks so much.i actually checked water level in New battery and it was fine.you tube says you should check every 6 months.which I've never done.i wanted a sealed battery but they only had duralast,which I requires checking levels every 6 months.i marked it on my calendar
