This was yesterday, but I drove it about 10 hours back from a short vacation. Got 24 MPG on a tank of gas and got to see this, which is the highest the MTE has been since I bought the car.

Pretty sweet. On my trip from OH to DC to the Czech Embassy, granted on winters (255s squared instead of PP1/Bullitt setup of 275R / 255F) and pushed above 28mpg, maybe even 29mpg.
Had almost 450mi showing on the dash back then after a fillup, crazy number. :D

Honestly, the Coyotte just hums and trucks along so well and comfortable while cruising. It's such a good cruiser. When after few hours I got tired of the loud exhaust, I set it into quiet mode and I think it coasted better and quieter than my 6spd '18 Accord did (which the Bullitt replaced).

I know I shouldn't ask....but.....why does it annoy you that these cars use 10 quarts of oil?
It's just a lot of oil to deal with after changing. 5 quarts is a lot less tedious, especially when I run out to recycle it right away. There's always some wise ass at O'reily's that tells me "we only accept up to 5 gallons" when I'm holding a 5 gallon container that's half full. The oil I got, this change, also isn't sold in an even 10 qts. I had to get 12, 1 qt bottles. Tedious.

What happened to 5 qt jugs of oil? What oil are you using that doesn't come in 5 qt jugs?

You mean other than you?
I wanted Brittany so was forced to buy 200A which meant I paid for automatic climate control (yawn) and MyColor, 8" screen other vastly overpriced and silly crap.

Decided to do something different this winter since I hate letting this car sit for 5 months. Ordered some Blizzak WS90 in 235/50/18 for my stock wheels. Now I can drive the car any time I damn well please. Yeah, I'll still have my beater, but now I don't have to faff with covers, trickle chargers, or rodent repellents. Will fluid film the underbody to avoid any potential for corrosion (even though the climate here and outside storage makes rust pretty unlikely).

Not to knock anyone who stores for winter since I've done it two years in a row now, but I'm kinda happy to reach a point where I stopped caring. Given the way the world seems to be heading, the more time behind the wheel of this fun beast, the better.
I got that same size of Blizzaks on inexpensive wheels from Tire Rack and they are awesome in snow and on slick surfaces. I, too, just drive my car all winter. I switch to my WeatherTech mats and keep my convertible top up most of the time.

As I have previously admitted, I am a barbarian, but I run my car through a soft-cloth wash every now and then in the winter and spring for the "chassis bath.". I've never had issues with rust. These cars are too fun to just put away for months at a time.

Your first mistake was buying anything from Kankakee IL. :) /ducks

simple, you buy yourself a 5 gallon pail with a good quality top and equipped with a stanard 2" bung hole, then use a very sharp knife and slice the top off your 1 qt containers and dump them into the 5 gallon pail. Cover. Roll it out and use a transfer pump to put it into crank-case.

PS. hire teen next door for $2/hr to dump all your 1 qt containers into said pail.
Or join the herd and just buy 5qt jugs of the name brands like every other person in CONUS.

I live an hour from Kankakee so... lol. I think their actual factory is in Manteno, IL.

Some of their oil is actually sold in a 5 gallon pail (just not this one). I don't want to load up on oil I'm not sure I'm going to commit to, so the 12 qt option it was. I've never used a "boutique" oil and figured I'd try something new. I've been stalking bitog for years and have never seen an oil so universally praised by its members.

Looks like my repair is getting a little closer :like:

It would appear that these aren’t the easiest of things to get hold of in the U.K. … :

So in preparation, I’ve bagged, labelled and boxed the first lot of parts for dropping with the tech ready for rebuild :
  • Steeda subframe support bushes.
  • Steeda alignment dowels.
  • Steeda diff bush inserts.
  • 12.9 grade bolts.
  • Stainless bolt sleeves.
  • J&M rear camber brackets.
  • Stainless flange head bolts (for the diff cover).

Itching to get it back … :sunglasses:

But rapidly loosing the nice weather … :frown:
