2022 Mustang ecoboost 200A. It doesn't have homelink buttons. OR-more specifically I don't see them, should be overhead, right? My 2019 had it. Did Ford quit including them?

If I remember correctly, the built in homelink buttons only come on the PREMIUM premium package... lol so 401A and the equivalent ecoboost version. Comes with the additional tech like the memory seating and sub woofer in da butt.

A thief can rip out the sun visor and is ready to go as well.
The remote control in the sun visor should save the settings even without external power, after ripping it out put voltage on it and ready to go.
Maybe even that is not necessary, because the power supply probably only recharges a capacitor and the remote control is ready for use even without external voltage.

I am currently renting, when I move out and give the owner back my garage remotes I can still open the garage with my sun visor. I doubt they will reprogram everything.

When I was living in an apartment with an attached garage I reprogramed all of the remotes the same day I got the keys to the unit.

That could be a thing. But hopefully either the theif isn't smart enough to figure that out or lazy enough that he won't trash my car...

I have a premium. I've had a 2019 and now this 2022. Same packages, but the 2022 is missing a few features that the 2019 had-even though both are 200A. Dealer did not discuss those differences and the salesperson was well aware of the fact that I had a 2019. We discussed the situation in depth when i ordered it. His words were "it's identical to your 2019 except the color"....and that is, obviously, dead wrong.

just to update and to close the discussion, I ordered a visor from a 2018 on the used market. It pops right in and plugs right in. Homelink works perfectly. 2015-2022 appear to be identical as long as the colors match. Ford wants $400+ for the visor, by the way. And, if you have lighted mirror, it's a direct swap. I don't know about if you don't have the lighted mirror on the visor, is the wire connector in the headliner for those that don't? I can't answer that.

Wow that is interesting. Definitely a sign of cost cutting measures for 2022. We better be on the lookout for similar small changes for 2023. I get it... pandemic then a supply crunch, OEMs are just trying to pump out cars to sell. Unfortunately the cost cutting measures are increasing and control over build quality is decreasing across the industry.

Sad that the dealership wouldn't just eat the cost of a new mirror from a different model for you. All of the mustangs from 15+ regardless of trim have the same visor mirror setup with lights, its just most do not have the built in homelink buttons, those were always reserved for the "extra premium" models.

I added it to my 2019 GT, it's plug and play. I think all Mustangs have lighted mirror sun visors, so it's no problem to add them. You just have to be careful with the little clip and don't lose or break it.
