A general question about the OP (which is awesome, by the way, thanks!). Is the list of known issues problems to be resolved or just things to live with?
Mark,

I see you have a 2022. You should have all the latest updates. Keep driving it until you get a CEL. Based on my experience and what others have said on here, is to do the following:
1. Drive your car in normal mode for the first 10 - 15 minutes. Let the car warm-up.
2. Then, switch over to Sport and/or Sport+.
Once the car is warmed up, the transmission woes of (harsh shifts, bucking, jerking, etc.) seem to go away.
Feel free to PM me with any questions. I have the 2020 California Special:)

Awesome, thanks!
I'll second this advice. I've got close to 1000 miles now and the transmission has sorted itself out really well. There is a noticeable difference between cold and warm performance. Hang in there.

Thanks! I'll only add that my "issues" occurred at the tail end of a 60-minute drive back home from Los Angeles, so the transmission was fully warmed up. But, I also can't remember exactly what I experienced, so I'll just need to keep driving it to gain complete perspective.

I'm not really bothered by anything, it's more that I want to make sure everything is as it should be. For example, I saw the thread about transmissions being low on fluid from the factory, and I want to be sure that's correct sooner rather than later.

Some on here say the whine quiets down with more mileage. Mine has stayed the same and I am just over 17,000 miles.
My F150 was still just as noisy after 100k miles...

My buddy’s dad has a 2022 Camaro with the 10 speed and it makes a similar whine. I just chalk it up to all the moving parts in these 10 speeds and if there’s a major problem, I’m still under warranty so I just drive it and enjoy it.

So, I'm at about 550 miles on my '22 S550, stock. Everything's mostly fine, except I do experience the following two issues identified in the OP, on occasion:

1) Harsh, clunky or jerky downshifts - usually most present during the 4-3, 3-2 or 2-1 downshift in Normal trans mode and can be more harsh when in Sport trans mode.

2) Harsh, clunky or jerky upshifts - usually most present during the 3-4, 5-6 upshift in Normal trans mode and can be more harsh when in Sport trans mode.

My question is, are these "normal" and to be expected, especially during break-in? Or do they potentially signal a problem with the transmission that needs to be addressed? I'm fine with how the transmission performs, generally, just want to be sure I'm not missing anything.

Mark,

Do you experience these systems all the time, even when the car is fully warmed up? What is the longest drive you have taken so far with the car?
In the car manual, it does state that the automatic transmission adaptive learning for a new vehicle may have firm or soft shifts. Over time, the adaptive learning process fully updates transmission operation.

Ive got over 1000 miles now. Did a few wot runs and the transmission was great. No bucking, slipping or otherwise. All in normal. I was skeptical, but all seems to be good to go. Yours will be too.

They don't happen all the time, but they happen both cold and warm. I haven't used sport mode yet, so it's all been in normal mode. The longest drive so far has been 30 miles to LA and back. Otherwise, it's all been around town.

I'm inclined to think it might be just the normal break-in adjustment. I'm going to have my oil changed at 1,000 miles and will ask the dealer to check the transmission fluid level, given that many people have seen theirs low from the factory.

Again, not trying to be paranoid or picky, just want to make sure I'm not missing any major problems.

One of the possibilities is it could be the short drives and the transmission not having enough time to warm-up. When you can, take it out on the highway for a long drive and see how it responds.

Oh nice I found this thread. This is going to take me a while to go through.

Since my Roush kit install and tune I'm having hella shifts between 1 to 2 and 4 to 5. I'm talking slam you into your seat or the car bounces cause your foot slips due to the jerky nature of the shift.

Doesn't do it so much in normal but in sport+ or track it's like the Vikings are invading.

Does the transmission have to relearn your driving habits after supercharger / tune work?

It was doing it after a 45-minute drive back from LA, so plenty warm. I'm going to keep an eye on it over the next several weeks.

I’m at about 700 miles on mine and have done a few 1 hour+ drives on the highway, but mostly in town driving for me as well. I’ll get an occasional hard shift while the trans is warming up but those are starting to go away now. I think it mostly just takes time for the trans to finish its learning process. I have the 300A so I don’t have the different drive modes and I have yet to use S on the trans. Everything you describe seems to be normal so far (at least in my experience) so will be interesting to see of it starts to get better as you put more miles on. The thing I’m still getting used to is when I’m in 10th gear and need to drop down to accelerate and figuring out a good throttle point to get the trans to downshift. Not enough pedal and it just kinda lugs along but I guess that’s the biggest difference I’m having to adjust to with the 10 speed (I came from the 6 speed auto).

I have the same lugging in 10th gear. I'm pretty sure that goes away when in Sport mode. It's hard for me to gauge how hard the shifts are when they happen because I come from an Infiniti with very smooth shifts. What I'm experiencing might just be normal for this transmission.

I think if the dealer checks the transmission fluid level and it's full, since that's one problem that seemed to occur from the factory more often than it should, I'll just have them reset the transmission so I can retrain it when I'm out of the break-in period. Then I'll give it some time to work out and try not to worry about it in the meantime.
