So question for those of you who took delivery from Chapman, did you have the car detailed by someone before you picked it up or did you just drive it home and then have it done? I can't really hang down in Philly for more than a couple days to wait for it to be done there and I will potentially have a business meeting in NYC on my way back to NH.
I have roughly a 7 hour drive after I pick it up and wanted to avoid rock chips or anything if I could, but I may just have to bite the bullet and have it done up here..
I really hate that I love the gurney flap, but hate it at the same time. I have a 60 mile round trip work commute if I take it to work. I found out I lose between 2-3 mpg when driving it on the hwy so I don't have mine installed at the moment. It is very easy to add/remove so for now it just stays off.I know it's different for me because I lucked out with my 21 but I had that same excitement too. You will be absolutely thrilled.
Things to have them check when it arrives:
Body panel alignment: Hood, fenders, doors, and trunk lid.
No car wash!
No front license plate drilling
Front wheel moldings (might be back ordered)
Gurney flap
Keep front splitter off if shipping and you have the handling pack.
Enjoy it when it shows up to you.

Yeah, I average like 15.8 MPG ever since I've had the car but I do a mix of driving. I have yet to take off the gurney flap because race car. I'm definitely guzzling gas with the Tremec.I really hate that I love the gurney flap, but hate it at the same time. I have a 60 mile round trip work commute if I take it to work. Also if you aren't going to track the car almost immediately have them double check the alignment. Definitely don't want anyone needing new tires like me before hitting 5000 miles cause a front tire has cords sticking out![]()
I would absolutely get the alignment checked. I had my car up in the air at 3300 miles to get the oil swapped out and did not notice anything. 1400 miles later passenger front tire was toast on the inside.Yeah, I average like 15.8 MPG ever since I've had the car but I do a mix of driving. I haven't checked my alignment but my car drives extremely well on the PS4S with how it came stock. I just wish I had more negative camber up front is all. I may get an alignment to modify it some for the street but not full on track. Honestly, you can't get enough camber up front with the plates they provide for a true track alignment.
I will have mine aligned next week, when I remove the cup 2's and mount the Contis.I would absolutely get the alignment checked. I had my car up in the air at 3300 miles to get the oil swapped out and did not notice anything. 1400 miles later passenger front tire was toast on the inside.
That's my plan, I will have about the same miles on mine.I got $1300 for my Cup 2's with like 12 miles on them. Basically paid for my new tires almost.
Absolutely. Cup 2's are track tires. Track junkies love these things and it's in a desirable size. That's my suggestion although it kind of negates the cost when you ship your car.Y'all are reminding me that I'm going to have to decide between buying snow tires again and having the local shop store/switch them vs buying all seasons and just not driving when it snows (I work from home so that won't be much of an issue).
Wondering if I should just sell the Michelins the Mach 1 comes with and get a nice set of A/S instead to avoid having 2 sets of tires — thoughts/suggestions? I don't really have room to store a spare set of wheels so I'd rather avoid that if I can.
Sorry, probably should have mentioned this before but I didn't spec the HP so my car should come with the the MP4S — never driven on that tire before so I don't know how it compares.Absolutely. Those tires are incredible. Someone would buy them.Sorry, probably should have mentioned this before but I didn't spec the HP so my car should come with the the MP4S — never driven on that tire before so I don't know how it compares.
Going to be flying down and driving the car back to New England as I have some airline miles to use before they expire (and it's a good excuse to see a couple friends and a client on the way back!). So the tires will probably have around 300-400 miles on them by the time I sell em, assuming I go that route.
Having the selling dealer do it?I’ve gone back and fourth on the washing cause I wanted to tape up a few areas for the drive home. I’m also having street alignment done as I’ll have a 500 mile drive home
MP4S is an incredible tire. My 2021 originally did not have the HP but I've since upgraded to all but the HP springs and rear sway bar. I still have the original 255/40 fronts and 275/40 rears for the unpredictable NH spring and fall weather; 295/35 front and 305/35 rear for having fun and track days in the summer.Sorry, probably should have mentioned this before but I didn't spec the HP so my car should come with the the MP4S — never driven on that tire before so I don't know how it compares.

I was thinking about having Granger do that and swap out the Cup 2s. Ill have a 1500 mile drive back to AZ. Well, I hope.
