Based on what though? Iām aware of the power decrease for 2022 models but I assumed it was due to emissions/ tuning, not an actual difference in hardware.I think I remember that it did NOT work with the 2022. There is a thread here on it somewhere.
I'll see if I can find the thread, but if I remember correctly, it's related to the HP drop and emissions, so the official Ford tune for 2022 is not supported.Based on what though? Iām aware of the power decrease for 2022 models but I assumed it was due to emissions/ tuning, not an actual difference in hardware.
I have to imagine it'll depend on how many S550s they sell before cutting over to the next genI spoke with FP today. The official word is 18-21 Power Pack will not work for a 2022, as advertised by LMR. The other official word is there is no official decision yet as to whether or not a Power Pack will become available for the 2022. At first it was leaning toward yes, then leaning toward no, and now somewhere in the area of 50/50.
Iād guess any new EPA rules would also be a factor.I have to imagine it'll depend on how many S550s they sell before cutting over to the next gen
From what I read it actually is part hardware.Based on what though? Iām aware of the power decrease for 2022 models but I assumed it was due to emissions/ tuning, not an actual difference in hardware.
Tom, just want to make sure Iām interpreting your post right. Youāre saying that in spite of the 10 hp drop in ā22 yours still feels as strong as (or stronger than) other 18-21s youāve had? Iām having a hard time comparing since my ā20 is an A10/3.15 convertible and my new ā22 is a 6MT/3.55 coupe. The cats are more restictiveā¦that is straight from Karl who used to be the Mustang program manager. I believe the tune may be more aggressive to compensate for power loss. I have a 2022 GT and it feels very strong compared to other gen 3ās Iāve had.
