Yep...it says Winner on the back. I have worked in a professional capacity with this dealership for many years. (When my SHO came in...it didn't get the sticker.) When the dealership first opened in the 1950s, there really was a guy named Charles Winner.

It was funny as the salesman I was working with brought the car around after PDI and before it's wash so I could see it. The first thing I did was open the trunk and give the front plate bracket to my wife!

I tried a little bit of heat....and a fingernail. Will not even budge. Didn't think of WD-40. I'll play with it again. Anyhow, they sent me a photo of the Mustang as it rolled in on the trailer. I was there within a couple hours, so it's not like that sticker has been there all that long. I'll post pic of it tomorrow AM.
Congrats on the purchase!

As others have said above - unless it's not glued or riveted, use a hair dryer, heat up the applied decal/sticker/emblem then pull the decal/sticker/emblem upward and it should start to come off. After removing it, use WD40 to remove any residual "goo". WD40 will not harm clear coat or painted surfaces. After getting all the goo removed, just wash and polish. There are other products for removing such stickers, like Goo Off, but be careful with using on clear or painted surfaces as some product can and will damage the clear or paint layer.

By chance, was that Winner Ford in Cherry Hill? Out of curiosity, what made you go with them as opposed to some of the larger Ford Dealers in PA?

I've never had a problem with getting these off before...I'm wondering if it's a very thin metal...

Yes, Winner Ford of Cherry Hill. I've had a long time professional relationship with Winner and wouldn't go anywhere else.

Here’s the sticker. It sits so close to the body that I can’t even get floss behind it. I’m wondering if it’s a thin foil or metal.

it s still only glued on. easy with right techniques. (mentioned throughout thread) . A little polish to finish after it s off to remove any fine marks you might have made.

Maybe try a plastic razor blade to catch an edge.

It appears to me you’re gonna have to take that off one letter at a time. Huge PITA IMO! I’ve taken off a bunch of them but never one like that so take this for what it’s worth. But some combination of heat and a single edge razor blade should raise each letter up enough so that you can get a fingernail or fishing line under it. If you hold the razor blade at the correct angle you won’t catch and subsequently damage your paint, but I’d practice a little on another car first to get the hang of it. It’s heavily in your favor that it’s only been on there for a couple days.

Pro tip: DON’T be tempted to use a heat gun. They can easily boil paint. A hair dryer will do it. Don’t ask me how I know…

Good luck!

Love the idea of practicing... no better vehicle than one with the exact same sticker... maybe a trip back to the dealer with razor blade in hand to try out the technique on a few cars on the lot...

Yep - that's letter by letter removal.

Winner - yes, during the Fox Mustang 5.0 era, we used to buy a lot of Ford Motorsport parts from them and Downs. Winner is a good dealership for sure - was just asking because usually don't see mention of Winner that often. :)

Another thing you can try is soaking a towel in boiling water, then lay the towel over the decal and allow it to heat through. This technique can also be used to remove old PPF or vinyl stripes. Another thing to try would be a steamer.

For adheasive removal and perhaps to soak in behind the decals, use some Carpro TarX or Koch Chemie Eulex -

CarPro Tar X | Automotive Tar and Adhesive Remover | Obsessed Garage

Both of those are used for Tar removal but they also double as an adhesive remover as well.

Thanks...2005 V10 I ordered new. Now, with 48,000 miles. I keep thinking it might be time to part with it....but never manage to act on that...

Thats clean low miles would bring decent money right now, but its too sweet to let go. Heres mine, built 7.3 It could smoke those tires on the stage 3 tune. I miss it dearly.

Apparently, this type of emblem/sticker is hard to pull without a razor blade. I got a few to test with. I have some small pieces of PPF that I'm going to put on the back side of a single edge razor blade to see if the protects the paint underneath. I got a couple the decals to test with.

Of course, wondering if these will pull the paint...arg. Sometimes, leaving things alone is best...
