I was looking at my 2021 EB and it has functional triangle vents in that pocket but my '19 GT/PP1 has solid blanking panels. What sense does that make, Ford? grrrr

Yeah, that's been discussed before. Something about "air curtain" flowing around the tire. Dunno. I tried to swap them out but they are inaccessible due to some heat welds behind the bumper cover.

After much prep work, I painted the calipers with a G2 kit. I'm not happy with the results. I tired brushing it on lightly but that left brush strokes and exposed metal even after 3 coats. I ended up putting a 4th heavy coat on to hopefully smooth things out... now it's just a bumpy uneven mess.

Brush on is a no if you want an even finish. Wish I used a spray gun. Well I may strip it all and spray, or just live with it. IDK. Also, I missed some bit with the tape off. I am disappointed. :(

Did you use the brush that came with the kit? I used one of my wife’s quality paint brushes (she isn’t happy with me) and mine came out clean.

Finally got around to putting my gorilla lug nuts on.

Did you use the brush that came with the kit? I used one of my wife’s quality paint brushes (she isn’t happy with me) and mine came out clean.

I used a high quality brush with my G2 Velocity Blue kit and it still did not self level. Better than those red ones but not great. Fortunately with the factory nickel PP1 wheels, its pretty much obscured. Went with Velocity Blue to match my painted stripes. But because its not a bright color and how little of each caliper is visible behind the spokes, I should have gone with a bright red (and sprayed) to make the calipers stand out.

My ‘21 PP1 does vent to the brakes/front wheel well. The ford performance part I installed seems to capture more concentrated air/flow.
