What the hell is up with all the motorcycle riders now needing to have a sound system that vibrates my car... from ACROSS the intersection!!!! I've noticed in the last few years the dude in the cut jacket, the boomer in his shorts, the flabbies going double have these sounds system that blow your ears outta your head when they pull up??!!!! I was onboard with all the Harley folks that took the nice Harley exhaust off right away so they can blatt, blatt down the road but why is it a thing now to have the loudest most obnoxious sound system around?
Some boomer pulled up yesterday and the hip hop guy who was thumping got completely drowned out with shitty C&W at super hi decibels, WTH?? (sorry C&W peeps, there's good stuff and crappy stuff in my land)

Please, do not associate that obnoxious bullshit with “motorcycle people”. I’ve owned motorcycles the majority of my life and never had a sound system on one of them. It’s beyond obnoxious.

I've been a motorcycle guy since childhood and own several Harleys among others, and I personally can't fathom why the hell you'd want a bike with a radio. Considering the size and weight and relative ill handling of a full dress bike (I've test ridden many, zero interest) you might as well be driving a convertible. When I'm on a bike, all I'm interested in is unobstructed scenery, solitude, riding pleasure, and the throb of the engine.

A few years ago an old friend bought a brand new Street Glide. We were standing in his garage swilling beer looking at it and I said, "I never thought I'd see the day that you'd own a motorcycle with a fucking radio." It took less than a year before he realized I was right and parted with it.

This is absolutely one of the worst trends going right now. I'm an avid motorcyclist and can't stand to see or hear speakers on any motorcycle.

Some time ago I was on a second or third floor of a hotel and three Harleys pulled in. One dude wanted to show off his new HogTunes. Without an exaggeration, I felt like somebody had cranked up the volume to MAX on the tv in my room. The clarity and SBL was incredible, though it was very annoying. So I get what you mean, across an intersection, yes. They are hella powerful, very impressive, and also annoying at the same time.

When did I become this old? :)

tbh this is a "thing" of recent times at least in Indy. A neighbor who owns a Harley type Hog one weekend his buds showed up for a ride and one of the guys bike sound system was vibrating my house from over 150ft away. I hear them at intersections off and on and it's different type of riders (leathers and chains, boomers, sneakers and tee's). I just don't get it...

The exception is crouch rocket riders.

...I guess it is the same reason for car guys with 'fart can' exhausts,(Mustang included) sport
bike riders with expansion chamber exhaust, kids with their 'low riders' beating
the ground with Bass and foul mouth lyrics from Rap songs flooding the area around them,
older model cars with their magna flow exhaust or some other type glass pack muffler.
What is 'music to your ears' may be crap sound to someone else.

So many haters! I live in both worlds, having a full touring Harley with a 1000 watt custom sound system and blat blat blat exhaust. I play my stereo so only I can hear it, except at highway speeds (80/85) when I need to turn it up to hear it. And yes, I installed a high-end sound system because I always try to install the best I can. My 2018 PP1 gets the same treatment... my exhaust is obnoxiously loud (Kooks LTH with full 3" Active Borla Attak) cause why not. Personally, I don't care what someone does to their cycle or cage; or if their stereo is loud or their exhaust is shitty or awesome. I care about my shit. I wave at mopeds, metric bikes and three wheelers, because to each his own. Finally, I get that some people have a difficult time with change... my friend, who has a Harley, and is old school, hates stereos on bikes, but is completely cool with L.E.D lights all over his bike and looking like a xmas going down the road. Me, I'm glad he's happy.

I mean, I have a Sena speaker system in my helmet, I wear ear plugs, so I have the music max volume and I hear the music perfectly fine. I dont really hear any noise around me but im aware of my situation. everything short of a fire truck or police vehicle since I can't hear them.

but ive been riding like this for almost 9 years. I hate wind noise, and I like music. so seems to work for me.

but those harley guys, and we also have a guy running around on a trike, the 2 wheel sin front and 1 in back, he runs around jamming his music through parking lots and waving at people, so much attention seeker.

its absolutely terrible, if they would turn it down entering into residential areas that would be great, but they just cruise around jamming seeking attention.

I ride, I use a helmet because I cannot stand the wind noise. I use my sena for music.. I don't care what others do, doesn't bother me. If I don't like their music, I just crank mine up and block them out. I am sure plenty of people hate my cars/bikes because they are loud, but guess what, I also do not care! :cwl:

Here the deal, I'm sitting in my house in my breakfast room drinking coffee and nobody ever played music that made waves in my coffee from two houses away and didn't stop playing it after parking for over 5 to 7 minutes. Even the thumper raps machines just keep driving but parking at your "buds" out front in a suburb and letting your system play full volume is just being a big time jerk. That's invading my home with your sound. I've never complained about anyone's exhaust system or lack of one. I get that totally even if I'm not a fan of your choice.

btw since I'm not a rider have no idea what a sena is but it must be okay.

there's 2 major players in motorcycle world, Sena and cardo- cardo is actually the bigger player, but I like sena so I stick with them. but they make systems (literally just speakers with a few buttons to push) that allows bluetooth from phones to helmets.
nothing really more than that.

I have a neighbor, who literally does nothing but sit in his SUV all day and drive around the block with like I swear to god I feel like its a 15 inch subwoofer. I feel it, in my house, I hear him at least a minute away. and then he will sit in his driveway for hours just thumping.

my grandma visited me, we was in bkacyard, and all of a sudden THUMP THUMP, then followed by a ton of, vulgarness all across neighborhood with his music. its so trashy, and hes literally the only one who does it. I feel bad bc his next door neighbor is a super old veteran who has literally a perfect house and yard, and next to his has that family that literally leaves 20 bikes in yard, trash cans out, basketball hoop knocked over onto his property half the time.

just crappy. I dont wanna live in this world anymore. lol jk

Edit he actually pulled up behind me at Taco Bell once and I couldn’t place an order he was maxed out music and I felt my car actually bumping around it felt like. It was shaking my cars mirrors

I had to order at the window he never turned it down

he’s a pos

Yea, that is just being a douchebag for no reason. Even in a car with a normal stereo, when I pull up behind someone ordering I will turn my music down.. because not a pos... lol

Oh my... what next, digs against boaters who have loud systems and you can hear it clearly across the ocean or bay?

🤣

They say history repeats itself, so don't get your panties in a wad when you see people walking down the streets with large blaring boom boxes on their shoulders, just as they did in the 80's....

🤪
