I’m new to the mustang, did not realize they had a plastic oil pan and plug.

only thing I’ve heard is the plastic tabs can break off when removing. Haven’t heard any reports of them leaking or anything.Has there been any reported issues with the plastic plug? I've only heard of issues with the metal ones in the plastic oil pans.
Even if that's the case (which I highly doubt), remember manual tells you to replace the plug every time you change oil. Which I do.only thing I’ve heard is the plastic tabs can break off when removing. Haven’t heard any reports of them leaking or anything.
you highly doubt the plastic tabs on the oem drain plug break?Even if that's the case (which I highly doubt), remember manual tells you to replace the plug every time you change oil. Which I do.
Yes.you highly doubt the plastic tabs on the oem drain plug break?
it seems to be quite common. The F150s have the same plastic plug and lots of them complain about it also.Yes.
@LevittownFordPartsLol, well I guess I will just use the oem plastic plugs and be really careful not to break it.
Anyone have a link or where a good place to buying a pack of these oem Ford drain plugs?
I guess you're missed some previous posts in this thread about great piece of mind UPR plug. I thought I blew the engine because of this fucking thing. It says the yellow plastic one should be replaced every oil change. Go with the UPR, solid piece and great piece of mind!
Sorry, I didn't read that other thread until now. Wow, that sucks!I guess you're missed some previous posts in this thread about great piece of mind UPR plug. I thought I blew the engine because of this fucking thing.
I kept looking for this in the manual (2018+) and couldn't find it anywhere, that it needs to be replaced. Can you provide deets?Even if that's the case (which I highly doubt), remember manual tells you to replace the plug every time you change oil. Which I do.
Was wondering the same thing…..I kept looking for this in the manual (2018+) and couldn't find it anywhere, that it needs to be replaced. Can you provide deets?
