That’s an even better idea and you get to visit with your mom.
Im going to feel bad, I think im going to tell florida guy to pound sand. he seems too pushy and it makes me uncomfortable. but we've spoken for like 2 hours and I will feel bad bc I heard the chic in background asking him questions about it.

I mentioned western union before we ended call "hes like dude the bank is easier, western union will charge a small fortune" eh... kinda lost me when he said that.

6 years, I rode it 3000 miles. a lot of this is attributed to me getting mustang though, I put 32k miles on it over last 2-3 years. so I didnt ride much due to it.

I have a 2019 (what started out as an 883), but now has a 1275 kit with CNC ported heads, big valves, cams, Carrillo rods, custom crank work and a ton more. I don’t ride it much either nowadays. I’m hoping that will change once I get more acclimated with my new home state of Florida. If not, I’ll be figuring out a price and listing it for sale like you did. LOL
I rode a 1250 once, it was super nice. when I was into the build I decided to stay 883, my friends who did the conversion said sometimes it can go seriously wrong. Lol cost money to fix. there wasn't anything about the 883 I didnt really want more out of.

I hope you ride some more! I

I have one of these on order. I ordered it in October pre ordered. you can pop the bags on and off and such, I am really excited for this.

That’ll give you the option to be sporty and tour a little when you want to. I like it!

I don’t blame you for feeling uneasy with the Florida guy. To me, if he really wants the bike, he’ll do what it takes to make sure that you and he are comfortable with the transaction. There are just too many scams out there nowadays. You can just tell him that after careful consideration, the only thing you feel comfortable with is Western Union. It’s not that expensive. Take a look at the fees here. If he’s squabbling about the cost, tell him you can split the cost ($25-$30 each) of the transfer and if he still has a problem with that, he was full of ish and looking to scam you.

There’s nothing wrong with a wire transfer. Once the funds hit your account they can’t be taken back. If it’s done in the morning they will show up in your account before noon. Typically a wire done after 3pm won’t show up until the next day. Usually there’s a bank fee of $15-$20 for both of you. Wire transfers are the preferred method for many people and especially on much bigger ticket items than your bike. I think you’re overthinking it, the guy is trying to send you money. You will have the money long before the transporter is there to pick up the bike.

I personally wouldn’t ship a vehicle as a private seller. Too much risk. There are plenty of one ways to transfer money, but sometimes the scam is getting enough personal info to impersonate you. If you look up Facebook market scams there is a lot of good info out there on remote payment scams.

If he needs it for the dmv, he should bring his own bill of sale to be signed after reading. If you want one for yourself, just look online for a template and make one. If you're worried, make sure to include a "no warranty, sold as is" clause.
This.

I do this anytime I'm selling any motor vehicle, particularly bikes, sleds, or ATVs. Years ago I sold an ATV to a guy (which was in above average condition) and he came back several months later trying to tell me the rear axle was bent. Um, no it wasn't, and you signed a bill of sale with an as-is clause.

I've grown to hate dealing with the general public, and it's most of why I got out of building engines on the side. Too much hassle, too many morons. When it comes to vehicles, I prefer to just trade them off, maximum dollar be damned.

The guy mentioned putting as is somewhere, and he said transporter would be here within 2 weeks. He said he wants to wire this weekend.

if I did let him wire Friday. And bike isn’t picked up for 2 weeks. There’s no chance to reverse correct?
He said he bought his motor home that way. He’s from Florida Dayton and says this isn’t new to him

hell I’d eat all fees 50 bucks not big deal. I think I could of got 5k but 4600 sounds reasonable. Everyone wins

What does the potential buyer mean by putting it “as is“ somewhere and he’ll pick it up within 2 weeks? Does he mean, park it on the side of a house or something and he’ll pick it up from there? If so, that sounds weird, especially given the condition of the bike. It’s clear that you’ve gone to great lengths to make the bike as good or better than new. Anyone can see that in the pics. I wouldn’t want my pristine condition anything sitting somewhere “as is“ for two weeks.

On phone call he just meant that for the title or whatever put as is condition no warranty. He did mention soemthing about seller note.

only thing that threw me for a loop is he said he would like to claim he only paid like 2500 on the seller agreement so he would pay less tax

Does that mean his wire transfer could be returned saying he only meant to pay 2500

whixh if I used western union wouldn’t matter bc I will grab money and be gone. It isn’t my bank so they couldn’t touch my personal info

Bike would stay at my house til trailer people come.

There’s been several people inquiring every few hours. I think he knows itl sell he said he would like to have to paid for by the weekend and trailer would be here within few weeks

if that sounds impossible to get money yanked back. Sure I’m game

You know this is fraud, right?
To be honest I’ve never had someone request that before. No idea how it’s used. I already paid my tax I don’t t believe I pay it again

i just sign title over and notarize with bank
But yeah I can see an issue here on that.

I've sold many motorcycles and other toys locally thru Craigslist.
I will not ship anything. My opinion.

Why don't you go to to your bank and ask if there are any issues with a wire transfer? Setup a separate account, have him wire to that account. Move the money to your normal account. Close the other account. No issues. You are overthinkinking this. Wire transfers for A LOT more than this are done everyday.
