Hi All, I came across an ad on Autotrader for a 2019 Shelby GT (just GT, not GT500 or GT350). I was not familiar with these and I really can't find much info online, as when you search "Shelby GT" all you get are results for the GT500. Is anyone knowledgable about these? Shelby highlights some of the changes on their website but you have to formally inquire to learn more. Is the stock transmission used or are any changes made? Are there any supporting engine modifications when the supercharger is optioned? Is this worth the premium over a privately modified GT? Will this retain an elevated resale value? Ad below for reference.

I will add, I didn't know this car existed until just now. But for that price, I would probably just buy a new one.

Cool car for sure!

The website lists the VIN. Perhaps a call to Ford will get information on how it left the factory.

Why would that be important?

That's very nice for sure. But 30k over fair market is crazy. If you can afford it, go for it.

Where do you get "30K over fair market"??? How did you establish what "fair market" is?

Glad I'm not the only one who was slightly stumped. According to Shelby's site, you get the standard 3y/36k warranty. I can see a post on vinwiki listing a previous ad, it was for sale at Lawrence Motorsport with 21 miles at the time, so I'm assuming either Shelby or a customer purchased new and modified then essentially tried to flip.

It was down in the KBB listing. And I realize prices are all over the place and it may not be accurate at this time.

That car has 439 miles on it, and probably stickered from Shelby for around $88.5K+. If not a whole hell of a lot more.

I'd say that's a good value at $73K, especially right now.

Starting car = $51,525.00
Shelby GT Package = $24,995.00
Super Charging Guesstimate = $12,000.00

The car probably cost $88,520.00 minimum.

If you look under the "Performance" tab, it says the SC is only for Post Title Sales. So that specific car had to be sold before it could be built. It's anyone's guess why they did that, but I don't think you need to assume it was to flip it, or that anyone wanted to rag on or test anything negative.

Now that I looked again, I would be curious what that SC install costs. My gut says that is a high price, but I honestly don't know one way or another. So don't rely on my opinion LOL

Because I would think it would affect the value if it left the factory as a GT and was modified as opposed to being a real GT350 or GT500. IDK but to me it would matter.

It's not either a GT350 or a GT500, nor is it pretending to be.

This is a Shelby American car. This was "built" at Carol Shelby's facility in Las Vegas. It's the company he started several years before he died

AFAIC, this is a real "Shelby".
