The Mustsng GT,,,,,,it is a modern Muscle-car(a pony car). It's not a luxury coup/sedan. It was never meant to have adaptive cruise, cross traffic monitor, and all the driving nannies. I truly believe that is most of the QC problems ford is going through. Buyers believed they were buying a luxury automobile and it's not. Mustangs are ment to be a little rough around the edges, they were made to get in shut up and have fun! Go base All day long.
I don't think you know the history of the Mustang. That may be your definition of a what a Mustang should be, but that is not why the Mustang was designed. The majority of Mustang owners would disagree with you. You do what you want with your car and don't be limited by what other people think. If you prefer the base, buy a base. If you want a premium, buy a premium.

Could you elaborate a bit on the history/design? Not arguing, just not sure what you are referencing.

Thanks!

Watch "A Faster Horse" on Netflix if you want a history of the Mustang. It was designed as a cheap, sporty, alternative for baby boomers based on European designs. Later it became a muscle car but until 2015, the smaller engines have always outsold the v8. The first mustang was a 6 cylinder.
I don't know where you guys live, but everywhere I go I see way more v6's or four-bangers than v8's.

I agree, A Faster Horse is a very well put together documentary on where our car came from. Be ready though, because you'd want to go for a drive afterwards haha.

Oracle.. I'm NOT trying to insult you so please don't take it as so. Your age? I've watched the film, fun, informative a good watch. But I have grown up with them, I've driven them I've seen their changes, I'm 45yrs by the way. I've never seen a generation of Mustang come equipped with options that meet or exceed Fords premier autoline up at the time. Back then you would've never mistaken the interior of a Ford Mustang for Crown Vic ,and today I don't want to mistake a Mustang interior for for Taurus/ Fusion .

I'm 50 and have grown up with them and owned a few. Mustangs have been very nicely equipped for quite a few years now. The sn95's had nice options and with new the technology of the time. My s197 was loaded. You choose not to own them and that is fine. To each their own. But to say that the Mustang shouldn't be nicely equipped with the latest technology is ridiculous.
You act like if this stuff was around in 1965 that it wouldn't have been available as an option on the Mustang. The Mustangs back then offered what technology was available at the time.

That is a great question, and I'm guessing you'd be right on that one. And you'd also be right in the options available today. , I admit defeat!. My ideal car would be the GT350r striped down to the bone, because of I'd be a toy. Ford obviously knows what their doing trying to serve the needs of us consumers.

Defeat? You got what you wanted and it is just a weekend toy. If mine weren't a dd I'd love to have your set-up.

I appreciate that, what won your point of view over was, I miss my Sirius radio in my Mustang. Than thought how spoiled I am that all my vehicles have back up cameras!!!! Makes me wonder how we didn't back into everything a few years back. Lol.

It's because the base model guys are usually broke kids who just want the v8 or old guys who say "I don't want the bells and whistles and doo-hickeys'
HA guess that makes the EB premium something mom and dad bought you?
Get a life.

Okay, whether he did it to stir the pot or just stating observations, I think CommyO has probably caught the drift that it was not an accurate assessment. Lets try to move on.

Thanks :)

Frankly, all this "my car is better than your car" stuff is getting tiring. Can we get back to the original request please?

"Has anyone seen any threads, websites, or vids that do a good job of exploring/explaining the electronics...basic as they might be compared to the Premium?"

Saw it, strength. Appreciated it! Thanks for posting it! But I was hoping for more.

Unfortunately, the thread deteriorated into base-vs-premium-and-reverse bashing. Why can't we all just get along, neh??

I HATE it when threads get hijacked like this! :-(
