Add some moisture to the mix and then it gets really fun....especially with Pirellis.Missing? People are idiots and acting like hooligans. Cold performance tires on a cold day will cause a little pucker.

This is why no one drives it but me. (And the shop owner when in for work)A friend of mine was cruising in his friend's new GT. It stepped out, bounced off a roadside concrete planter and hit a huge median tree sideways.
Driver is now quadrapeligic and my friend (sole super bread winner) instantly broke neck and died on the spot (RIP Fernando) leaving two fabulous sons and a wonderful wife behind.
I think it does have an affect. First part of my commute is going up a mountain road, and disabling rev-match makes my upshifting better. I was surprised myself, but I don't have to wait so long for the revs to fall with rev-match disabled as I have to with it enabled. When going upwards, the feeling is quite noticeable.Toggling the rev-match feature has no effect on rev-hang.
My car never sees rain. Not with Street R's......Add some moisture to the mix and then it gets really fun....especially with Pirellis.
I have a mt-82 in my 2017 gt and i really dont have problems with controlling it. I turn everything off, I hold the traction button for 5 or 6 seconds which turns advance trac off. I feel like advance track limits the car and tries to correct the angle when i want it to slide out. Im 16 so I am no where near an expert but i respect the power and dont go balls to the walls out on the street. With advance trac off it lets the car slide and carry its momentum without the wheels locking and grabbing trying to fight for traction how just turning TC off does. I hear many older people saying to never turn it all the way off but the car is way more predictable and fun with it all the way off. It will probably be a lot different with an AT but the same principle i guess. I feel safe in the car and its predictable with the 400 something whp that it is making with my mods. Just dont try and show off or do anything crazy mid turn and you'll be perfectly fine.I’ve read several posts that imply these GTs are all but dangerous to drive because of the tendency of the back end to get away from you with no notice. I just read another one so I’ve gotta ask, what am I missing here?
When I first got mine I left TC and ESC on all the time, and yeah it would spin some from a dig and between the A10’s 1-2 and 2-3 upshifts. This with 3.15s and PZero Neros in a stock GT. So later I got more adventurous and turned off TC and it spins a little more but nothing I’d come close to calling uncontrollable. I’ve turned ESC on and off but can’t tell much difference. I’ve had many, many late ‘60s cars with big low end torque and crappy tires that were far more unpredictable but heck you just learned to drive out of it. No big deal.
Have I just been lucky so far and my time is coming? Maybe some guys just don’t know how to drive these things? My experience just doesn’t line up with a lot of stuff I read.
By the way, when I want to get on it I currently turn TC off but leave ESC on. Is this the safest bet or would I be better off turning off ESC too? None our 60s cars had these things and we did just fine. And it wasn’t unusual to break the tires loose running three digits, depending on how good you could shift.
Anyway, thoughts are appreciated. I don’t want unfamiliar technology to embarrass me.
It DID NOT step out on it's own. It's the goof behind the wheel. I can have all the NANNIES ON and make my car still do stupid unrecoverable shit. Some seem to think the computer is gonna save your dumb arse in every situation, it won't.That‘s a sad and tragic story for sure but it’s completely meaningless in the context of this thread without knowing WHY the car stepped out. I’m pretty sure it didn’t step out on it‘s own volition and if there were a known safety defect it would have long since been recalled.
It's a rear wheel drive sports car with 460 horsepower....cars lose traction lol. If you don't want it to happen again give it less gas?Interesting, I have had fast cars my entire life. But have never experienced this: The other day coming home from breakfast I got on my GT (AT) and without warning the ass end swerved left and then slid to center then right without warning. I instantly lifted off the gas and slowly braked to regain control. My wife turned white and asked what did you do? I don't like the computer doing the driving for me. What needs to be done so (I) can drive my car and this does not happen again.
Maybe it's an auto thing...My two s550 manual GT's never unexpectedly spun their tires or got sideways unless I wanted it to, and that was only with everything turned off. With traction and stability on, you'd have to do something very very stupid imo to lose control of an s550.I don’t understand how these guys lose control like that. I mean I’ll admit it, when I first got my previous mustang it took me a while to get used to the fish tailing and what not to do. I’ve been driving these cars for 2 years now and never lost control of it like that. Whatever I did in it. I guess I know my car and can handle it just fine.
Sig, we have a lot in common.Interesting, I have had fast cars my entire life. (I'm 79) But have never experienced this: The other day coming home from breakfast I got on my GT (AT) and without warning the ass end swerved left and then slid to center then right without warning. I instantly lifted off the gas, steered straight, and slowly braked to regain control. My wife turned white and asked what did you do? I don't like the computer doing the driving for me. What needs to be done so (I) can drive my car and this does not happen again.

TC and ESC were on. I hit a stretch of open straight highway and nailed it at about 45mph and that was all she wrote. That sucker was out of control and I did all I could to shut it down. This was not my first rodeo but this was the first time a car did this to me. My last hot rod was a 67 camaro that I built from nothing to a Tri Power 427 with a Muncie Super case trans and 3:55 rear. Believe me that baby was an animal and could get squirrelly rear fast and all you had to do was get off it and bring it back under control. But this GT Premium Mustang NOT SO MUCH.Sig, we have a lot in common.
Question: when this happened were you hitting it from a first gear full stop?
And were TC and ESC individually on or toggled off?
Wasn't it like 49F in most of N Carolina today ?TC and ESC were on. I hit a stretch of open straight highway and nailed it at about 45mph and that was all she wrote.
