Do people really take these late model GTs to car shows and pop the hood?

That kind of surprises me as there really isn't anything there to show off, even under the hood. I've never been to a car show though, I thought they were to highlight unique or uncommon cars?

It's the common norm to pop the hood at a car meet or informal car show. You will find all sorts of things and absolutely not limited to unique or uncommon. In fact, the vast majority are fairly regular models. Here's some pics from a car "show" I went to this past weekend:

I didnt like the cover, but made the best of it then started going to car shows.

The downside is even under the cover isn't a real appealing look with everything being there. Not being able to do the budget gt500 valve covers and being stuck with the MMR billet valve covers is a bummer

Yeah I'm leaning toward some paint on the factory cover. Which only creates more questions. Do I tape it off and rattle can it at home or take it to a body shop? Not sure that tiny of an amount of paint is cost effective to mix. Next, if I do rattle can it at home, does anyone make Grabber Blue in a rattle can?!

I hated the engine cover, I like seeing the valve covers and intake, inspite of the NYC subway system running across the engine. I like my old 2010 Camaro SS's engine cover, looked neat and it had a thick sound deadening/heat insulation material that quieted the valvetrain noise a lot. I took it off once and the sound was ugly. The Camaro had so many cool aftermarket options. It's sad there is no way to clean the Stang's engine bay up a bit.

As a photographer, the hoods up at car shows always bugged me anyways. Ruins the beauty of the car, and usually there was nothing special under the hood.

The Camaro's cover was a heavy pliable plastic, it wrapped around the engine a bit and had thick material under it, so it was effective at mitigating the noise. The Mustang's is cheap brittle plastic with giant holes in the middle and no sides to it, I can't see it doing anything. I can honestly say I can't hear a difference with the Mustang's on or off. It's for show, so I leave it off in the attic. The problem is there is no room in the engine bay for something decent.

I always disliked the cover Ford puts on the Coyote, but I don't think I would pay for a replacement cover. Maybe that's why nobody makes a replacement. There's no demand. There are companies that make carbon fiber replacements for the car I have now, but I'm not paying $500 or more for one. I kind of like mine anyways.

While BMW has a good overall execution - damn the OCD is bad when I see the right (driver side) CAI tubing, clamps, actual location of the air box being shorter and not tied equally in place by measurement and placement as the left side...

WTF BMW, it was only another 1/2" to make it look spot on...
