I don’t think for coyotes you’re required to change springs on the comp NA cams
So you will do cams, but draw the line at springs. Makes sense. You won't be able to spray enough nitrous to hang with a blower car. Allocate the funds to boost. You're welcome.

I’m definitely debating on forced induction, leaning towards the lines of the hellion sleeper tt. I’m currently fbo on 100 shot and so far I have beat 2 blower cars in my area both coyotes. Blower cars definitely have much more potential which is why I’m still debating.

Those blower cars were clearly not setup properly. Sounds like boost is off in the distance. Carry on.

1 is tuned through a local tuner and the other is through Lund, both centrifugal blowers. But hey if I’m beating them now hell with it. I’m definitely thinking about turbos though, I feel limited when it comes to nitrous.

My reason is just sound for now. I have a blown fox body that has big power. I bought the car from Copart. I am replacing the frame rail, so the car is stripped at the moment. I do all the work myself except replacing the rail. So, while the work is getting done, I wanted to do a cam, intake, tb, cai and exhaust and drive it like that. It's not a daily driver it will be used on weekends.

If all you want is sound, a ghost cam tune is the way to go. Aftermarket cams aren’t the best way to get there and will probably idle smooth anyway.

Are you going with a tubular front end since the car needs frame work?

Let me know what you find. I am looking for a big nice sounding cam. Eventually car will be boosted.
Definitely won’t get a chop if that’s what you mean. And there’s “cam’s” not just a “cam” on the coyotes.

I have however seen some tuners say that getting rid of the VCT allows for better tuning of the power band.
i don't see how this is possible because you just lost all the control of the cam timing by locking them out

What’s up guys, I’m currently in the market for cams and was wondering what the best for my application would be. I currently have a fbo 2nd Gen coyote on a 100 shot. I’m about to make a switch over to a cobra jet setup and also a cam. I know EVERYONE uses comp cams, I’ve heard good and bad from them and I know they are big for a reason, I’m just curious if there is anything better?
Are you going to install them yourself or have a shop do it? I just installed a set of Stage 3's on my gen 2.

How much trouble was the install? Did you do a retune for them and how much more hp/tq did you pick up? Any chop with those stage 3 cams?
