What’s up guys, I’m currently in the market for cams and was wondering what the best for my application would be. I currently have a fbo 2nd Gen coyote on a 100 shot. I’m about to make a switch over to a cobra jet setup and also a cam. I know EVERYONE uses comp cams, I’ve heard good and bad from them and I know they are big for a reason, I’m just curious if there is anything better?

There are no "best", just whatever suits your driving style and goals. I have seen good results out of the LM intake only and/or paired exhaust cams.

Let me know what you find. I am looking for a big nice sounding cam. Eventually car will be boosted.

Don't think you'll get that kind of sound out of an overhead cammed coyote. Regardless of how big you go.

Todd Warren does 4.6 cams and I think he will do 5.0 as well. He’s on Facebook.

You will if spec'd correctly and locked out.

OP, if a blower is in the cards just go for that and skip the cams.

I don't think there's many s550 cars that have cams locked out that are making the sound they want. I don't know the benefits of being boosted and locking them out. I know there are a lot of opinions out there. I have however seen some tuners say that getting rid of the VCT allows for better tuning of the power band.

Ghost cam it to get the chop and add the blower for the big bump in power. From what I understand, cams + install can run close to $3K, which is a 1/3 of the cost of a top tier blower.

There was a guy running a 100 shot locally here in TX. He went with comp cams stage 3 but the part is discontinued apparently or hard to get. He was close to 9's FBO with a holley sniper.

Looks like you have lots to investigate.

A quick google search shows that Beefcake Racing has the Comp Cams Stage 3 cams in stock. With new valve springs required, perhaps a good port job on the heads would also complement the cams rather nicely.

I don’t think for coyotes you’re required to change springs on the comp NA cams

I thought that was only for Stage 2 Comps, but if their Stage 3 cams don’t require springs, that would make them much more appealing.
