Which kit did you order? looking forward to the results.
I went with the ESS G2 w/ the bigger IC and 125mm/6.5 psi pulley fed by ID1050x and a BAP. Looking for ~575-600 at the wheel on 92 pump, no corn around here. They’re kind of the new kids on the Mustang block but the guys running it speak very highly of the quality and power. Among other things, I like the idea of the silicone charge pipes because I thought it would help prevent false knock. I read that can be a pain with a centri in a stick car but it sealed the deal for me when a tuner from Lund chimed in that they weren’t seeing any from the ESS kits they’re tuning.

A pretty modest build compared to many here but FI on this platform will be all new to me. So I’m just planning to enjoy the install process, hope for some good luck, and have some fun once she’s all together

ESS are solid kits. At the power level you are looking for, NT555RII rear tires will work well, and can still be driven in the rain, and actually grip pretty well when wet.

I’ve read the entire thread up until this point and this is the conclusion I came to… with me having an a10 with 3.55’s, I’d be better off with a centri. So my question is, it seems most (in this thread) go with Procharger over Vortech/Paxton. Why is that? Is it better in some aspect?
either kit is a quality kit. the vortech / paxton are a better bang for the buck and our #1 kit for the last 10 years.

Do you plan on getting in the ESS game? Also with the Vortech, do the heritage gears mess with the knock sensors?

the entry level v3 jt and 2200 are
Max Speed: 52,000
RPMMax Boost: 27 PSIMax Flow:
1,450 CFMMax Power:
1,000 HPPeak Efficiency: 76%

the ess entry level unit is 1300 cfm and rated at 800hp

the rpm / step up correlate.. the ess will not make boost sooner, it takes more rpm with an ess to make boost, thats why it has a higher max rpm, its designed that way.

all the step ups correlate to what that blower can make.

the ess isn't a bad unit. but for what we do for the guys on the paxton / vortech setups, it's not a better dealer, especially since the entry unit flows more, and has a better intercooler

your 5k for an ess tuner kit with the upgraded intercooler, and only a 1300 cfm blower vs a 1450 paxton / vortech unit on our custom setup for under 6k you also get id1050x and a bap, $1450 more parts included on a 15-17, and just over 6 on an 18 and up.

the 1600 cfm, is rated for apps over 900hp.. why.. because like all centri, when you have a blower designed for high hp, it's lazier at 6-10 psi.

not really. there isn't a reason too. they are selling wholesale direct to the customer, so there is 0 markup. and with the deals we offer on the vortech / paxton, it's a better deal, even over their base kit. your getting a better blower and a better intercooler, for the same money.

no, the heritage gears won't mess with anything, no different than the standard procharger gear

I did 10.50's on 305/50/19 NT555RII's but was spinning every time on the 1-2 at the track.
I had the same problem with the NT-555R2's at the track, they were spinning and hopping as it shifted the 1-2, 2-3, 3-4, then it short shifted into 5th. They do well on the street for rolls, but I think the MT ET Street R's would help immensely at the track, they're just not suitable for street driving imo.

I have 315/50/17 Street R's on the car now. A bit aggressive for the street, but the traction makes them worth it. I don't drive in bad weather.

In retrospect, I wish I would've opted for the G3 unit versus the G2 from ESS knowing that it performs as well as it does.

I originally purchased a Vortech for my 2019 2-years ago and never installed it because I was concerned about the permanent modifications that were necessary to do so, then I sold the kit.

IMO, the ESS kit is definitely a less complicated kit to install,
couple it with the price point, and the confidence to handle the install myself instead of paying someone else to do it made it an easy decision on my end.

Nothing against the performance that Paxton or Vortech are capable of, it was just personal preference for me.

I have 315/50/17 Street R's on the car now. A bit aggressive for the street, but the traction makes them worth it. I don't drive in bad weather.
It's necessary for me to run a tire that can handle the wet weather that we have here in Houston and still deliver decent dry performance. I just didn't find them as capable as the ET Street R's at the track.

I do like the NT555R-2's because they handle really well on the street, can handle wet roads decently and they don't feel floaty past 90mph. I will definitely be buying another set because after a year of driving on them they're pretty much shot.

If I end up trying to make a glory pass early this next year just to see if I can get it into the very low 10's, I believe I'll need to put a proper drag set up on it to do it. Unfortunately, Houston Raceway Park will be closing soon and the closest 1/4-mile track will be 3 hours away. I just don't know how much use they would actually get after it does close.

not true, it's impossilbe by nature with a centrifugal blower. when you have a blower that is in its peak efficiency at say 25 psi (a centrifugal), and you pulley it for 7 psi. it will never make that power at 7 psi, that a blower that has a 15 psi peak efficiency will.

it's just how the blower works. pullied for the proper boost, it will make more power, yes,

but it's no different than buying a billet ysi, and then pulling it for 7psi. a v3si rated at only 1150 cfm will be quicker every time at that boost level,

pullied for 25 psi. thats a different story
