My OCD says steeda has it right. Why would you want the hot gasses going down?

Ask Brembo and GiroDisc

From Brembo:
Additionally, all of Brembo's slotted discs are directional as well, regardless of the vane geometry. The discs should be installed such that the end of the slot nearest the outer edge of the disc contacts the pad first.

You're confusing Hot Gas direction with slot pad swiping direction

Just Google anodising in your area....it's a common industrial service though some just have 3 architectural colors (black, clear / silver, deep bronze brown (window frames) that can take the UV. Just ask them for shops that do other colors and ask Steeda.

I know the avg price to dip chemical strip and anodize a semi truck wheel is $60 or so in any color.
Sounds good. I will research these shops in my area

This should clear up any confusion with STEEDA 2 piece, Dario’s personal car so you know they are mounted the right direction.

If weight savings are a top priority the Girodisc are the lightest. Baer has changed their rotors and the newer versions are nearly as heavy as the stock one's.

Ran Girodiscs for a track season and a few thousand street miles too. Pretty happy overall, but be aware they WILL weld themselves to your hub if you don't apply antiseize in the right spots. I thought I had the hub covered but apparently not.

Aside from that, my only gripe is that the anodization has gone purple with the heat. Still looks pretty trick though.

Sure thing!

It's impossible to say if I noticed a difference on the weight front; I'd think you'd have to A/B them directly against the factory rotors, but for now but I like the peace of mind that comes with both the increased thermal capacity as well as decreased unsprung (and rotating!) mass, e.g. the best possible weight you can save.

The price of admission is pretty spicy, but I'm happy.

I did notice a small amount of difference over bumps with the steeda 2-peice rotors. Not a big difference but it was tangible driving back to back with the stock parts.

The steeda rotors internal vents go the same direction as the slots, so the slot end nearest the hub should contact the pad before the outside end for the same slot. That gets you the air pump effect through the internal vents when the wheels are rolling forward. If you have them with the top of the slot on the top of the rotor leading forward, that's backwards for the steeda parts and you're killing babies every mile you run them that way.

Weight savings wasn't as huge of an amount as I had hoped (compared to old worn stock PP1 rotors), but any weight savings helps.

Is the discolouration where the bell could see the sun ?

I have seen older black anodising fade and new batches also take on the purple hue when viewed in bright light. I think UV and the grade of alloy can effect how the colour takes (and lasts) :like:

WD :like:

I dig the look of the purplish hue. It adds character and tells the world these are used for the purpose it was designed & engineered for.

I also really like how the 2 piece rotors stand up to a lot of abuse. I have a hard braking style and they give me a lot of confidence to go for a gap under braking.

One guy got kinda butt hurt once but oh well 🤷‍♂️.

Technically yes, but this car lives indoors and given how quickly and evenly it showed up after my first track day with them, I'd say it's almost certainly a function of heat not light.

But I know that "was once black but is now pink or bronze" look you mean! I had a few parts on motorcycles do that, lol.

Lol, I have been known to be hard on brakes too. Of course when the car is almost 4k lbs anyone who is driving even a little bit, uh, purposefully will be tough on brakes.

And yeah, I don't mind their new purple-ish hue. Completely agree with that sentiment too... everything I do must at least do no harm if not improve on track performance. These definitely check those boxes while still looking rad.
