On your buyback. Are you going to buy another Mustang or go a different route?

But these days, most are, no code, no problem.
My cats are gone, bad sulphur smell but they don't throw codes. So I get the smirk and "they are fine"

Soon as the epa warranty is up they are gone.

I bought a 2021 2SS 1LE and have been shocked at how good it is. Wishing you the absolute best, no matter what route you take. It is tough out there on the car market right now, but your current situation has been so tough and I have never seen anything quite like it.

I know you said you had videos of the noises posted in another thread... is there anyway you could share it once again? I had a 2018 and I want to compare.

That sounds like engine, not valve train. Should have let it blow.

Man... mine never sounded great, but that is absolutely ridiculous.

I agree 100% with you K4fxd! There's a good chance something was really screwed up with the compression tests and they don't want to tell you.

Ock ---- You are being way too nice to them my friend through all this trouble................

I would literally bet if you got this car back and took it immediately to an independent mechanic straight from the dealer, the compression would be all messed up. ALSO, I bet you if asked that independent mechanic to do a borescope analysis he would 100% find scored cylinder walls.

Whenever you get this car back, you HAVE to get rid of it.

If you don't want to get rid of it. I respect that and understand... but I really think you should go to an independent mechanic and finally get the truth you've been looking for. Just tell them, (in short... Ford & the local dealer won't stand behind their product), tell them you want a compression test & borescope analysis done on this car.... In about 2 hours you'll get the truth you've waited 3 months for.......... AND a ton of ammo for a lawsuit, a big case with Ford, or more than enough reason to get rid of this car.

Your engine was built wrong from the factory, nothing you did.

Maybe the new owner will have a better approach.

If I had a warranted engine that sounded like yours I would have shifted it at 6500 every time till whatever is making the noise let go.

It's too bad... seriously. The Gen 2 you have @K4fxd is literally solid as a rock. Lots of Gen 3 issues. I had a very bad time with my Gen 3 until I gave up.

@Ock I'm on your side, let me know what you think and I'm more than willing to help with anything.

LOL... when this started it was "something simple" is what dealers said so i didnt think much of it, they have had car since. that was 3 months ago almost now. i got extended warranty so when factory is over its still covered front to back another 4 years. ill make sure it gets fixed/replaced.

Yelling at dealer/people on phone doesnt get you anywhere. they do not care. if need be ill get a lawyer. its not worth getting worked up over. ill just tinker w/this till i get it back and go from there...

Obviously it is not. I'd call Ford and do what is necessary to get an engineer to look at the car.
@Cobrajet might be able to walk you through the process.
