Went for a 25 minute drive and pulled into a parking lot. As I pulled in my car goes DING! Then... DING!.... DING!....DING!....... there was nothing in dash, no visual indication of anything. I checked everywhere. Just the sound. Shut off car. Restarted 20 minutes later. Sound gone. A little disconcerting.

Any ideas what that was?

Did you have something in the passenger seat that may have set off the seatbelt sensor?

Good thought but the pass seat was empty.
I'd really like to figure this out.

Was your turn signal still on. Could be a blind spot warning. Or if you were already in a parking stall maybe a cross traffic warning. That one scares the crap out of me everytime it goes off.

No, I was pulling into the lot off a Hwy so traveling pretty fast. Closest car 25 feet ahead. Then I pulled away so nothing ahead. Moving thru lot. Car going DING! every 5 seconds. Again, no visual warning of any kind.

My family had a 96 Windstar that was afflicted with what we referred to as the "bingity bongity". Up until about 35mph, a fault in the door sensor would cause the "door open" chime to go off continuously. Check for faulty sensors.
I'd have no clue how to go about that.

Nope. And it only lasted 30 seconds.

I wonder.... My keys hang from a clip I hang from a front loop on my pants. I wonder if somehow a button got pushed on the FOB?

Hmmm, maybe you were "sitting" (pressing) the trunk release button against the seat side cushion?

Try pressing the trunk release (and perhaps other buttons) manually while you are moving too fast for it to allow it to open and see if it replicates the ding.

I've had mine display a gremlin before. Once after starting up and reversing out of a parking space, the "service advance track" warning came on along with the accompanying features disabled list. By the time I had puttered across the parking lot and just before entering the roadway, they all disappeared and haven't come back since.

I also have the random disturbance of the rear view camera where the image tears and discolors. Once it went blank. Always temporary (so far) and totally random. There are threads discussing that the factory wiring harness to the rear view camera is too short and can pull for a crappy connection. Which is possible, but I would think that would get worse over time eventually failing completely. So far not any worse than the early days. So I haven't bothered to mess with it.
