Has anyone locked out IMRC on their gen 2 ?

wondering if it’s worth it to just go ahead and get a 2018 manifold especially if I have to pull the gen 2 off just to lock that out

I'm sure someone can lock them out just have to have a tuner work with you. On mine I went with the gt350 over the 18 mani due to the direct plug in of the gt350 to the Gen 2.

Yep I did. Haven't noticed any detrimental effects at all.

What is the supposed advantage of locking them out?

You don't have to pull the manifold, just need a tune that turns them off. You can remove and plug the vacuum lines. The springs will keep em closed. err open.

On the flip side I kept my IMRC functional on my Procharger build.

Let my tuner know this and I am surprised how well my little 308 cu. inch Coyote pulls down low and in the mid-range. A10 and 3.55 Torsen equipped rear gearing certainly helps too.

A just over 2K rpm there is noticeable smooth surge of torque that makes it effortless to pull way ahead of normal traffic.

I have absolutely the opposite problem. From 2-3k rpms unless I'm running wide open it's a dog. I'm Na and running a gt350 top end, long tubes and cats.

Have you discussed this with your tuner? Sounds like a missing link in your tune.

What's the point of locking out the IMRCs, especially on a manifold you already have?

You lose a bunch of torque down low/midrange and gain 0 power up top.
After putting headers on, I cracked a sensor when lifting up the engine. Right behind the manifold that has happened to some and I didn’t know to disconnect it before hand. Replaced the part but I’m still getting a check engine light because of it so a 60 dollar part vs the price of an 18 manifold right now is a lot better for me.
From what I read any actual loss in low end is negligible

Does anyone know what needs to be capped off? I’m sure that one on the back of manifold does

You're wasting your time trying to disable IMRC/CMCV. It was included specifically to get this engine to run at lower RPM and has zero impact on WOT performance.

All you will achieve is degraded driveability and a dysfunctional ECU calibration.
