I just got off the phone with Borla and am completely bummed with what they had to say.

I'm told they just got their car for R&D within the last week and they said it will be at least a couple of weeks to a month to R&D systems and at least a couple more months to determine pricing and produce systems [emoji20]

For me this is perhaps the worst news I could get. I have been holding out for Borla because I love their S Types.

I go back and forth between getting their Ford Racing exhaust and waiting but with at least another 3 month wait I think I am going to have to get the Ford Racing setup........

I know, I know if I want Type S I should just wait but as Tom Petty says "the waiting is the hardest part!!!!!!"

Decisions, decisions.

Just thought I'd pass this along for all of you who are also waiting for Borlas.

Yah I considered SW for a minute but don't think I like there not being a "can" type muffler. I think it will be too loud inside the cabin at highway speeds.

I have Kooks LT headers and hi-flo cats into Borla S Types on my SC'd '05 now and the highway drone is too much for my liking. Because of this I was not going to change the factory headers and cats and just use S Types.

Now I'm wondering if I will get the Borla/Ford Racing exhaust. This way if I do decide to change the headers & cats it hopefully won't drone the shit out of me. I have my dealer waiting for the release of the Roush stage 3 SC and they will be installing it the second it comes to market.

Just can't live with drone this time around

Doesn't borla make the ford racing exhaust? I think I'm going with the ford racing because its the best one I have heard so far.

That is very interesting they are this far behind their competitors. These other vendors seemed to have prototyped their system, got it production ready with pricing in under 3 weeks. Hell, some of them had it done in a week or less.

Yes the do and I agree it's the best sounding to me so far. Think I'm getting it ordered tonight.

Well, they say Borla on the mufflers, but do they really make it. Maybe they just supply the muffler

It doesn't make sense that they are just getting their car for R&D, then who the heck did the R&D on the Ford Racing Borla Exhaust ???
Shouldn't they already have all the specs and measurements then???

In the past, I've heard no. Ford created a muffler and got Borla to sign off on it. Cheaper version of a borla without the Borla warranty. This is what Borla sales person told me a few years back when I was price shopping the FR Borla and their own Borla exhaust. The Borla exhaust from Borla is always more expensive then the ford racing offering.

They definitely make it. Asked them myself.

Borla makes it but to Fords specs. Borla makes theirs sound different with their tips so they can differentiate the systems.

Just got an email from Don at Borla. He says that they are about to release the parts for the 2015 Mustang. "They should be released for sale within a month" was his comment. I asked the question but maybe someone else knows... Does Borla make their S type system with an H pipe? I really like the SW with the H pipe but think a Borla with an H pipe would be really sweet!

Made another call today s/p SEMA and they can only say there won't be any "info" till end of November or early December. Most likely nothing released till a little after that.
