This would contradict information I've seen.
Also, some initial press releases for the PP2 also made things confusing, the way things were worded - it made it seem that the PP2 had Brembo Brakes and Radiators that were larger than that of the PP1, when in fact, those components were the same bewteen PP1 and PP2, at least for these two examples of components.

The other thing is, if you look at parts catalogs, the Motorcraft Brake Pad Part#s also seem to change year to year due to whatever upates, but the applications remain the same.

Motorcraft parts are the tier II parts for Ford, try and use the OEM parts. Parts numbers are always changing, it is always best to replace parts by using your VIN at the parts counter.

I don't disagree about the motorcraft service parts vs oem factory equipment - I just used that as an example.

However, a good friend of mine works in parts as well, for a local Ford dealer, and we had a long convo about this last year - he confirmed OEM part numbers may be different, but again, to the original comment about the physical size of the PP2 Brembo front pads/rotors/calipers, they are the same physical size, despite what the VIN matching and part numbers may bring up. Another buddy of mine has a PP2 301A and bought a lightly used set of PP1 front pads and rotors off a guy from the local classifieds here. The PP1 seller was upgrading his front setup. Everything fit like factory to the PP2 Brembo calipers.

As a side note, on many components, Ford will actually have an Engineering Part # on it, which is different than the actual production Part #, so this further causes confusion.

Well, being a Ford dealer does allow us quite a bit more information than most people have and in the Canadian order guides that is what was written for the 2019 PP2. It might be interesting to note that in the 2021 order guides the 2021 PP1 gets the former PP2 radiator. The brake part numbers for the 2019 PP1 and PP2 are different, I just secured the last set of PP2 front brake pads in Canada. With Ford, part numbers are produced from the VIN of your car.

When I check for racing brake pads at several aftermarket sites the front pads are the same model from 2015-2020 (didn't have 2021 option yet) GT with Performance Package brakes. Ford having different part numbers doesn't mean they are completely different. Maybe they use a slightly more aggressive pad compound on the PP2?

I just measured my 2019 PP2 front rotor from the edge to the hub and it is 2 and 11/16ths of swept area. I just measured a 2021 PP1 front rotor on one of my stock units and the same measurement is 2 and 1/2 inches. The difference is not that much and you would need a good eye to see it but there is a reason why they have different part numbers. I would recommend original OEM parts for your PP2.

After 14K miles on 2 sets of Sport Cup 2's, I switched to the Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3's, and they are AMAZING. IMO way better than the Cup 2's. Same lateral grip, way better grip in a straight line (I mean NIGHT AND DAY...for whatever reason, my 2 sets sucked in a straight line but yesterday did a good pull onto the highway and they just HOOK UP). But you get all that traction from the Eagle's but NO TRAMLINING and NO ROCKS. With the Cup 2's, you could hear it pick up rocks all the time....with the Eagle's NOTHING but then you have the insane grip, it just holds. Oh and they last longer and cost less, so after having the Eagle's so far, I will say the Cup 2's suck! The Eagle's do have a bit harsher of a ride but other than that, totally worth that tradeoff.

I did an H-pipe to mine and with the active exhaust I think it is the best sounding V8 out there aside from a flat-plane crank. Did the Steeda clutch spring for the pedal, and I'm liking that so far. Waiting on an MGW shifter as well because I can't stand the lockouts....right now, the drag strip is pointless. Locked out of 2nd...and then locked out of 3rd...what's the point!? But all in all, I chose the package because it would cost less than me doing all that stuff to the car anyway. Other than what I've done to the car, I think it is all-around a perfect car. I also came from a 2019 Camaro 2SS where I had the 1LE suspension and I never regretted trading it in for the 'Stang for 1 day since. But I could go on-and-on all day about that. I just think it is a better car, like it has a soul...

And that reason is ? What are the P/Ns then (and for what years did you look up P/Ns since they tend to change from year to year) ?
And are calipers the same ?

(for the record - I worked on friend's PP2 and brake rotors / calipers were absolutely identical to the mine, to the P/N - both had stock brakes).

That difference is approaching 10%, so I wouldn't describe it as not that much when you're talking brake rotor surface area. And that's not total area, just radius delta between the two.

Every good year tire I ever ran leaked air. And there are plenty of folks out here that say the same.

So, not ready to drink the kool-aid .

Not a fan of Goodyear either. Every time I went away from Michelin, no matter what I was driving, I regrtted it.

Sport Cup2s are so much fun to drive on, but not the best choice for the street IMO.
When I burn up the Cup2s, I'll do like most and get PS4S.

I didn't want to go down to the PS4S's; the Eagle's are in between those and the SC2's, very close to the SC2's. They are standard equipment on the SS 1LE and ZL1 FYI.
