They can see that the car was tuned.
On some device, it won't leave a footprint. It's like nothing ever happened. Thank you CMR software.

Whether a Ford Dealership mechanic would come to the same conclusion or would instead just respond with "it's been tuned, FU" is likely but not a given.
The dealership I deal with says all they wanna see is oil changes on time. Whether at home or some other certified place. Tune or not.

Thank you CMR software.
have they done any work since 2018? Or could they not hire a website guy to update their supported vehicles list for the past 2+ years?

so? If he bought a bumper-to-bumper and it included it's own powertrain provisions, the Ford one is of no consequence.
Good point. Wonder if they run concurrently. I’d also like to see the exclusions of the 3rd party warranty. Most of them are junk If something serious goes wrong.

It’s good that you have a dealership who will work with you. But it’s Ford that makes the determination as to accept or reject a claim. As always, it’s a crapshoot.

It has nothing to do with the devise. The counter is in the PCM and when the thing gets flashed it resets the key cycle to zero and raises the flash count.

You are 100% correct Sir. And that's as far as I will go.

a partial write, or one that is able to restore the PCM key count is likely the differentiator. I don't know but I suspect SCT et. al. could trivially write their software to read/restore the value and this boggie man could be put to rest.

Still have powertrain but I also got a 3rd party bumper to bumper that allows me to go any mechanic, doesnt have to be a dealership

Google 3rd party warranty and warranty denials. You will see that 3rd parties send out adjusters/inspectors for any type of major work. You will also see that 3rd parties don't always use new parts (unlike OEM) and some will go as far as to use a salvage part. On top of that, the many 3rd parties do not cover diagnostic fees.

The one and only time I had a 3rd party, my wife's Audi A4 had a leaking radiator. The warranty company approved a new radiator after inspection but approved one made in China instead of the Audi/German radiator to save $42. They would not put the OEM radiator in. We opted to pay the $42 out of our pocket to put the OEM in.

Majority of 3rd parties are junk.. worthless.. and if they send an inspector, they WILL dig. Their job is to find a reason to deny the claim, Period.

I suppose I should look into this "warranty" I have then. Thank you.

Sorta off topic but not..
Will an s550 make better gains from a cai/tune combo (as in they compliment each other) or is it like, for example:

Only CAI + 5 RWP
Only tune + 15 RWP

Add them together and you get..
= + 20RWP

OR do they compliment each other and together I could gain something like +25 RWP?

These are just hypothetical numbers to properly articulate my question.

Thanks

Entirely depends on the tuner. My tune required CAI is a consistent 2/10th gain at the track over my stock 17 airbox, so that's like 20 hp.
