I went from a 350 to the 500. Loved the 350 and enjoy the 500 just as much if not more. The only downside, if it matters, is rather poor fuel economy. Beyond that, all win.

What did you see on your MPG from the GT350 to the GT500?

Around town, itā€™s the same. On the highway, itā€™s the same.
On the track.....thatā€™s a different story.
Actual numbers: I have no idea. Except to say; I could do three 20 minutes sessions on a tank in the GT350. Canā€™t do two full sessions on a tank in the GT500.

I like to disassemble things.

I went from ok to abysmal. Only around 200 miles per tankful on a 16hr trip meant plenty of opportunities to buy the lone, burnt hotdog left on the rollers next to the gas station cashiers across the country.

In discussions with a few dealers on base 2020s.We will see where this goes. The prices I was quoted on CF cars were outlandish.

Sounds about right. It's unfortunate we don't have any other performance cars launching soon to drive down the price. For instance, if the new C8 Z06 was out there is 0 chance these ADM's would hold 30K-40K over. GM also not updating/getting rid of the Camaro along with SRT's being a different kind of car completely hurts trying to drive these ridiculous prices down.

After speaking with several dealers on the Z06, there will be a hefty ADM on them.

Initially but GM won't put a cap on the Z06 production. Like the last model after about a year or so they will come down to MRSP, and a bunch of dealers for Chevy will give MSRP from the start depending on how big they are. The problem with Ford is the dealers have a cap on CFTPs they get obviously, so in turn you get the large ADMS since they perceive it as their only chance to make extra profit.

First deal fizzled out. Original markup of $10k. They were willing to reduce the markup to $9k over.

Of course they lowballed me on my trade which is a 2019 with tech pack, handling pack, carbon dash. 4,200 miles.

Ended up going with a Porsche. Ford dealers in California would not budge on price, Surprisingly they were lower on trade value for my 350. When i posed the question about markup vs resale, the Ford guys seemed perplexed.

Loved my 350, but the Ford dealership experience in California is a nightmare.

some dealers are willing to play and some just arenā€™t unfortunately. Which Porsche did you end up getting?

I ended up going with a 718 Boxster GTS 4.0 with the manual. It was spec'd relatively light on options which made it appealing. The flat 6 has nice linear power delivery and the the chassis feels very planted. I was considering the Spyder, but really like having the power top.

I have had two Shelby's and miss them both. I am sure I will have one again.

The only negative thing about the 718 is the gearing. 2nd gear is so long that you canā€™t use 3rd gear and stay below most highway speeds. So driving on the street itā€™s a bit boring. On the track Iā€™m sure its A ball. Most people have complained about the gearing

We shall see how things go. The markups I am finding here in the Bay Area are anywhere from $20k to $50k over. I will be patient and wait for a deal to materialize. Perhaps with the 2021 order book open, dealers will relent some on the 2020s.
If youā€™re willing to travel you can avoid a markup. Using a mustang app that I found on the App Store, I spent months plugging in zip codes all over the country. Eventually I had a choice of 4 brand new gt500s to choose from. I put 500 miles on my gt500 driving it home.
