I had a whipple on my 06 Mustang and am thinking of a Paxton for my 2017. Any thoughts good or bad?

I had Paxtonā€™s on my 2011 & 2015 GTs. Good solid kit. If I had to pick one thing I donā€™t like about the kit. It was that the overflow bottle mounts right over the left bank of spark plugs. As for how fast they are. I never lost to anyone with another brands kit on their car.

Nothing wrong with a Paxton or Vortech. I just didn't like all the cutting and altering needed to install one. With the ProCharger, most of that isn't necessary.

I have put a Vortech HO air to water intercooled kit on my 2009 Bullitt 5 speed and recently a Procharger PX1 head unit on my 2018 Mustang GT R1080. Both kits delivered the power and drivability I wanted. No issue there. The Vortech which is like the Paxton sounds cooler but at least on my 2009 you had to remove the blower to change belts unlike the Procharger. The Procharger whistles whereas the Vortech had this cool sucking sound.

As far as installation goes, the Procharger was MUCH easier to install and could be done easily in a day. Temp wise, the Procharger runs much cooler than your Whipple for sure.

Nothing wrong with the 2200sl, good blower, given its specs and others experiences Iā€™d kinda prefer a 2200r or a Vortech V7 JTB. But people have gone plenty fast on the 2200sl

Not sure if climate is a factor but one of them centriā€™s isnā€™t made for cold weather, canā€™t recall which one.

The instructions on my vortec V3 years ago was said not to run it below 30Ā° f. ProCharger is no problem if you just left the car warm up a bit

It might help a little if you provide info regarding your goals. None of the systems are inherently ā€œbadā€ but some will be more fit for use depending on the specifics of what youā€™re trying to achieve.

Here is the ProCharger. It sucks air from the fender well area and then forces it through the air to air intercooler into the engine. In regular driving the iats are about 6f more than the ambient temperature. After several full throttle runs never more than 15f warmer than ambient. I don't know about Paxton or Vortech as I did not have it on a gauge then. But much cooler than my Whipple or Roush. Note the belt/pulley location. Super easy to get to.
