Hello guys, I just got the 18 Mustang GT premium pp and I am planning to add a Roush blower. The only reason of getting a Roush blower is to keep my warranty alive. But I recently heard that Roush blower has really bad and not their best design for the 18 GT's and not efficient. Also heard that the blower it self will get very hot often and will loose power. Is this true? This 18 is my daily cat about 40 miles a day commute and will not be on a track. Would be great if anyone has accurate information.

The biggest problem is going to be the inlet, its very small compared to previous iterations because of hood clearance issues. Roots style blowers are always more susceptible to heat, just the nature of the beast.

Ultimately I think you'll see plenty of 675-725rwhp 2018's with the roush blower and a few mods. But they will be limited in how far you can push them because its like sucking ice cream through a coffee straw so I think that will be the biggest limiting factor.

Thank you for the reply. It is my daily street car and I will not be looking for the numbers, but want more power than fbo. So, basically having a limit is the only issue of the current Roush blower? and in my case, i shdnt be worrying about as I am not seeking for the numbers?

Forego the Roush and go with Whipple. Better application for sure. That's where I'm putting my money in my 18'.

Well, I didn't hear or read that they get very hot, but I guess we'll know sometime down the road. As for the design, I personally believe there are better offers out there. Like foff67 said, Whipple looks to have a nice kit. My Roush set-up has no issues running hot, ever, and has always run very strong and smooth, but mine is the R2300 with some extra add-ons and Lund tune. If I had an '18, I would seriously look into some other brands.

The only reason I wish to go Roush is the warranty. My previous 17 had a pistion defect and I realized the importance of the warranty. Should I just give up adding blower if I really care abt the warranty or just roush the car?

That's up to you and how you look at it. If you go FI, you better be prepared to possibly pay out of pocket if something goes bang and the dealership can prove it was the supercharger that made it go. Many of the guys and I on the forum accepted the risk and realize paying out of pocket is a very real possibility. I would say that most of us that went FI haven't had any problems. Of course by adding BIG horsepower numbers your risk increases. But then again, there's always some sort of risk going FI.

rollingshi I see your in Duluth? What shop or dealership are you planning to use for install? I bought my mustang from nalley in sandy springs but they wanted to much money for supercharger install. I think 11 to 12000 but i cant remember. Once i heard that i will go for the gt 500 or a z06. If you don't have extra money then i say don't supercharge until car is paid for because at any moment you can inherent a huge repair bill from the dealer. The rousch warranty may have a limit money wise on what they will spend? better yet they may say you caused the damage racing or something and not cover anything? If you cant afford to fix car with cash out of your pocket then i would wait. good luck in your decision?

Make sure you read the warranty before you get the warranty. Lots of exclusions in it.

Yeah man, I live in Duluth. Cumming is not the far away! I just got a quote from Hardy Ford for about 1200 including installing blower kit, opg and cg.I have savings about 700 a month but not sure if thats good enough.

1200 is a steal to install all that I think? What do they charge for kit? Can you buy yourself and take to them?
