Hello all, just got back from the local emissions center and received a fail grade on my test. Im not sure why... It listed catalyst and an oxygen sensor as a reason. I am on a 93 tune by pdtuning and have a burble tune but his site says they follow emission standards. I still have my stock cat as well. Any suggestions? I'm waiting on a response back from Ryan to see if he suggests anything.

Maybe the O2 sensors have been turned off?
Definitely check with your tuner about this.

I'm also thinking I could flash it back to stock then run the test? Just an idea
Not sure if that will work or not? I think those sensors need to be turned back on and the car needs to be driven for a bit afterwards. Not positive on this.
Maybe someone with more experience can chime in.

It's a year old for me now, the tags just expired. Here we have yearly tests.
We have yearly testing as well but the 3 newest years are exempt.
No check engine lights on? What do you see if you connect a code reader?

so no codes come up on my AP, I checked the I/M Readiness and it shows my catalyst, oxygen sensor, and oxygen sensor heater in a not ready status... Guess my tuner disabled them?

Alright.. update! Ryan got back to me and said this seems to happen all the time and that he doesn't ever touch the sensors. Was told to flash an ost or stock tune and drive it awhile. Hopefully this works!

Stock tune + 50-100 miles of mixed driving = emissions pass.

We have yearly tests as well, whether the tags need renewal or not. It's every year.

You guys are getting f'ed! What a pain in the ass!
Here is good old Commie-fornia, we don't have to smog a new car for 8 years! And then only every other year after that.
It was 6 years, but they changed it to 8 last year. You do have to pay a $25 fee each year.

Don't make me so jealous...they may take out emission laws here (Williamson County, TN) in the next couple years or so.. not sure yet.

There are a few counties in CA that don't require smog checks at all, regardless of age. Lake county is one.
Must be nice.

Not sure how I'm getting hosed. I take mine once a year, guy actually performs a service and I pay him $18.
You, on the other hand, pay $25 to someone for absolutely nothing. So who is really getting hosed here?
