Dura-Coating -Long lasting tire shine

Anyone ever tried that long lasting tire shine kit called Dura-Coating?

It’s supposed to looks like the regular oily/gel type tire shines but dries completely to the touch and lasts for months.

Since I just mounted new wheels and tires, I decided to give it a shot.

They make you wash and scrub the tires 2-3 times before drying them completely and applying the solution with a sponge. I used a leaf blower and heat gun to ensure they were dry before applying it.

So far so good but it’s only been a day, so will update the thread every few days to see how it holds up.

Interesting how all the detail products lately seem to start at $39.99. Drive it in the rain and let us know how it holds up. I've still got almost a gallon of my current stuff that looks great until I drive it in the rain....of course that gallon should last me close to a year or so.

I think turtle wax had something like that I used before. It lasted about 2-3 months but when it started to wear out it turned a brownish tint and had to be scrubbed off. I used it a lot until I couldn’t find it anymore. I love the wet look. I will be getting this soon

Carpro perl is amazing - lasts for weeks and doesnt turn brown. you can dilute it for a more subtle look, but it wont last as long as a non-diluted coating.

Shots from yesterday evening after one day of heavy rain and light driving.

Its been raining hard nonstop today, so have not had a chance to check them at all, will wait until tomorrow to see how it held up against the storm.

After a long night of heavy thunderstorms they are still looking good.

So its definitely waterproof, let’s check back on Sunday after a full week has passed to see if the shine is still there.

Sorry forgot to take pics this weekend, and yes they are still shining even after all the rain, but I think I am starting to see a bit of that brownish tint that @Jhonda mentioned earlier.

I will take some pics in the morning When the sun is out.

Sorry for the delay.

The brownish tint is only visible from certain angles when the sun is really Really bright so am not sure if I got it with my iPhone.

They also dried dry to the touch after the first day, so I suppose I could try washing them, since the ad claims you can wash them like normal and only their special soap can remove the coating.

For 9 days of regular driving and being only drive way kept, also including the severe thunderstorm storms, they are holding up well.
