What is the actual benefit to adding the oil seperator to both driverside & passengerside? is there any performance benefits or just capturing waste oil from entering the manifold. Thanks for all that respond.

No real purpose on the driver side on a properly functioning engine. Pass side keeps oil vapor from the ventilation system out of the intake tract. Oil doesnā€™t help fuel octane any but if it was a do or break issue Ford would have installed it originally. My 2 cents.

I don't really know exactly what the benefit is other than to have oil vapors entering the intake manifold which can prematurely cause engine damage. Most recommend just doing the passenger side.

In the owner manual it says if you track the car regularly and or are a highly skilled driver you should install oil separators on both sides.

Oil vapors entering the intake tract lower the effective octane rating and can cause engine knock which will cause the ECM to pull timing. Also, the gunk buildup in the intake manifold is gross (a real problem on cars with intercoolers).
I would never buy a used performance car that didnā€™t have one installed on the intake side (passenger side on a Mustang).
As others have said, installing one on the left side (driverā€™s side) should be a waste of time. If that side is catching oil, thereā€™s a significant blow-by problem in that engine.
