I’ve been looking for a used gt350 for quite a while now. Finally pulled the trigger about 3 weeks ago on a really low miles, 2016 avalanche grey black stripes gt350. Ive been driving this car everyday now since i got it, just love the way it drives. It’s incredible. It’s completely stock but i am going to change the clutch spring. I read a lot about how the steeda spring is better than the stock one.

I do have a question. The other day I was scrolling through all the electronic menu such as hill assist, oil life, etc... then i ran into Admin keys and it showed number 3. So i searched through manual, found out more about admin keys and mykeys. I only received 2 keys when I bought this car. That means theres a 3rd key somewhere. That concerns me. Somewhere out there, there is another key that can start this car. Is there a way to delete it? Or reprogram the keys I already have so only the 2 keys I have will work on this car? The manual only talks about programming Mykeys. From why I read, i probably have to go to dealer but if anyones knows how to delete that third, i would appreciate it.

Thank you.

To my knowledge, there is no third key for GT350's. I bought my 2019, new, and there were only two keys.

This came with mine. I never used it, but think it can only open the door and lock the glove box.

Interesting. I did not get one for my ‘19.
What would be the purpose for this? A back up if you’re likely to leave your keys in your car?

You can add more keys to your car. OP is saying a third key is programmed to his car that he doesn’t have.

The car comes with two (admin) keys. It requires two admin keys to program additional keys. You can delete the third key if it bothers you. Are all 3 keys admin keys?

Thanks for the responds. But yes, i am saying all 3 are admin keys. I’m assuming previous owner lost one of the original keys, so they had another one programmed? Maybe they just wanted an extra set of keys? I wouldnt know but just the fact that theres another Admin key somewhere concerns me. When I called dealer, they werent really sure, told me to take car back to check it. I guess i can go back, just thought i could try to save a trip and reprogram the keys myself, somehow delete that 3rd Admin key.

Probably what happened was the owner programmed a spare key to keep the originals nice. Thats what I do. You can delete the third key if you want to.

Can’t believe how great this car feels when you drive it. It’s incredible. I came from an 05 gt, so that’s obviously a big difference. I’ve had my shares of other cars in between but the 05 gt has been more dependable than some of the other cars ive had, including some pricier cars (2 bmws). Kinda sad to let it go (going to give to my kid). I actually bought that 05 just before he was born! How time flies! I taught him how to drive it when he turned 13 lol. He loves mustangs so he kept bugging me for the longest. I took a risk, at 13 he learned how to drive that 05, stick shift lol. He’s 15 now but i dont let him drive car alone (he doesnt have copies of the keys). He’s only driven it with me, and we only practice in deserted places, no cars, no traffic. In fact, since the whole covid 19 thing started, he hasnt driven it.

He’s in awe of the gt350 but loves the 05 gt, especially because its going to him when he gets his license.

Here is a pic of the gt350 when I went to pick it up.
Had to buy used, a brand new one is out of my price range right now.

I have to talk with a tech pertaining to another issue at the end of this week or early next week. I thought it was a simple matter of going into the settings and removing a key. One of my Rs has 4 admin keys. I didn't see a way to delete some of them. I'll get back with you when I have an answer.

@Battlerob

I just spoke with a Ford tech and he says that the third key cannot be deleted via any car interface. He says that it has to be done with IDS which is a (dealership/tech tool). I asked about using forscan and he said he didn't think that it could be done via that method.

So, if you bought your car recently from a dealership, take it back to them (along with your two working admin keys) and ask them to delete the third key (I'd make them do it for free).

Or you can do nothing. I'm like you. I wouldn't want a third key floating around.

Thanks for helping. I’ll have to go to dealer then and get that 3rd key removed. I wonder how many people buy preowned like this and never realize there are other keys to their cars floating around.

Plenty I’m sure.
A member of my family lost their key to my new truck a couple months after I bought it. It’s probably in a coat pocket somewhere.

You scored dude! Only a tad over 5K on the clock, hell it's just barely broken in! (Unless it has been tracked). Check your tread wear for that answer.
When I picked up my 2016, 4 1/2 years ago, It came with two fobs, each of which has a "blade" inside of the fob transmitter itself. The owner's manual, (pg. 43), shows you how to access it, and use it, in case of battery failure or frequency interference issues. The key you have won't fit inside the fob, so I don't what the deal is. Glad I could help you out.

Also, I tried the Steeda spring, and even though it is better than the factory part, I found that the best feel from the clutch was achieved by using no spring at all. I need a little resistance from the pedal, and with a spring (or two, if stock), I would mash it through the floor eventually. But most owners do like the Steeda.
